The Role

We are seeking a talented and creative UX/UI Consultant (Information Architecture) to join our delivery team.  The ideal candidate will be passionate about user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, with a strong understanding of information architecture principles.

IFT is a UK-based company. However, this is a remote-first role. We welcome applications from talented individuals across regions within the European timezone, who can work within our core hours. English at an advanced level is a requirement.

This role is hands-on, requiring a strong understanding of the user journey and how design decisions impact website conversions and user engagement. Whilst you'll collaborate closely with developers and other team members, a solid grasp of basic web development principles and content strategy will be beneficial.

The UX/UI Consultant role plays a pivotal role in shaping the user experience (UX) of our clients' websites. You'll leverage your design expertise to provide strategic guidance throughout the design process, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet user needs.

The core responsibilities

  • Client Collaboration: Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the website design process, fostering strong relationships and understanding their business goals and target audience.
  • Strategic Guidance: Leverage your UX expertise to provide strategic recommendations that improve user experience and achieve client objectives.
  • Project Oversight: Manage website (design, CRO, UX/UI) projects from conception to completion, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget.
  • User Research &Goal Setting: Collaborate with clients and the team to define user needs, and establish project goals, KPIs, and timelines for successful project delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high-quality design standards throughout the project lifecycle and ensure they are implemented accordingly.
  • Reporting &Communication: Provide regular progress reports to clients, keeping them informed and gathering feedback throughout the design process.

Design-specific responsibilities

  • Design Execution: Design user interfaces (UI) that are visually appealing, user-friendly, and align with brand guidelines.
  • Design Efficiency: Work efficiently to meet project deadlines while maintaining high design quality.
  • Design Maintainability &Scalability: Ensure designs are well-documented, follow established design systems, and can be easily adapted to future website iterations.
  • Wireframing &Prototyping: Create clear, well-organized wireframes and interactive prototypes that effectively communicate design concepts and facilitate user testing.
  • Usability Testing Success: Successfully conduct usability testing and iterate on designs to achieve usability goals.
  • Information Architecture Effectiveness: Develop and implement effective information architecture that enhances user navigation and findability on websites.

Requirements

  • Agency experience 
  • Experience in Financial Services or willingness to expand their knowledge in this sector
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in UX/UI design, with a focus on information architecture for websites.
  • In-depth knowledge of UX/UI design principles and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of user research methodologies and ability to apply findings to design decisions.
  • Proficiency in wireframing and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD). *
  • A solid grasp of basic web development principles and content strategy is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with developers, visual designers, content creators, and clients.
  • Analytical mind with the ability to translate data from user research into actionable design decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
