Are you interested in being part of a well-funded, early-stage company dedicated to redesigning patient care through a best-in-class SaaS solution? Are you a curious problem solver and critical thinker, with deep technical expertise and a passion for solving real-world problems? Are you independently motivated and excited by the challenges of productively contributing as an integral part of a distributed team? If you answered yes to these questions, this role might be for you.
About the Role:
Curve Health is a mission-driven health tech company focused on empowering care providers to treat patients in place, even under acute conditions that would otherwise require a transfer to the emergency room. This is no glorified Zoom consult! Rather our platform is designed to facilitate remote care for even the most complex patients during an acute event, providing a much better patient experience at a lower cost impact. Who doesn’t love a win-win?
We’re passionate about delivering parity of care over our telemedicine platform -- creating the benefits of at-home hospital-quality care for seniors. We’re equally passionate about building cutting edge, modern technology with the latest tools and frameworks. We are looking for a Technical Lead to join our small, impactful, and growing team. The Technical Lead will be the most senior technical person on the team and will partner closely with the CTO to build out our technology strategy.
The Technical Lead will:
- Help us evolve our current product from a best-in-class telehealth app into a true SaaS platform.
- Help develop a technology strategy that supports our business and product strategies.
- Prepare technical strategy, specification, and implementation plans.
- Provide technical guidance to the engineering team.
- Assist CTO in high-level project estimation and budget preparation.
- Participate in project analysis, design, and implementation discussions. Provide technical and functional recommendations to the product and design team.
- Lead a team of engineers to deliver technical projects including contributing directly to the codebase yourself.
- Help with recruiting and onboarding of new engineers.
- Ownership of the whole software development lifecycle, including: Service ownership, testing, CI/CD, and supporting and troubleshooting software in production.
- Establish and evaluate engineering processes including code quality standards. Recommend improvements when required.
- Recommend new technologies to improve system functionality, performance, and reliability.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in healthcare / digital health
- Passion for user-focused and innovative product development, with an ability to provide a clear rationale for technology decisions.
- 6+ years of professional experience as a senior software engineer with experience leading a team of engineers to deliver technology. Pragmatic decision-maker.
- Ability to stand up, integrate with, and operate third-party technology services and software as a part of overall product delivery.
- Full-stack engineering with experience building scalable APIs and microservices operating in serverless environments
- Experience with infrastructure tools and technology such as AWS, Ansible, Terraform, etc.
- Experience with some or most of the technologies in our current stack: React Native, Ruby on Rails, Postgres, Snowflake.
- Ability to manage time and dynamic priorities across multiple product initiatives
- Expertise in agile methodology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proven track record in a similar role, ideally in a remote work environment
