Hopper is expanding in Canada. While Hopper was founded in Montreal, this will be Hopper’s first team exclusively focused on Canada Expansion.
We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Product Manager to join Canada Expansion as a founding team-member. This person will focus on increasing price and selection of travel inventory, localizing user experience, launching growth features, and more. The ideal candidate is scrappy and will take ownership for improving Hopper’s competitiveness and market share in Canada.
Product Managers at Hopper are “smart creatives” who obsess over the customer and use data to create best-in-class experiences. As a Product Manager, you will work at the intersection of software development, data science, and user experience to solve real customer problems and create unique value. You will need to dive deep into the data and develop an understanding of the competitive travel landscape to ground the basis for new product features. On any given day — whether you’re surveying customers to better understand their needs, partnering with engineering to scope a feature down to the MVP, or combing through data for new insights — your contribution will be critical to Hopper’s current and future success.
In this role you will
- Collect and generate new product ideas that enhance Hopper’s connectivity capability and value proposition to our customers
- Manage the end to end product roadmap for a set of features from inception through implementation
- Collaborate with engineers and communicate clearly business requirements and user stories
- Create test plans, dashboards, and analyses to prove the value of incremental work via statistically significant A/B tests
- Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs;preparing return-on-investment analyses;establishing time schedules with engineering
- Collaborate closely with several technology partners via whom we source fares, inventory and ancillaries
- Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term revenue forecasts and product performance reports
- Partner with internal and external team members to design relevant data schema and coordinate the integration work in the Hopper platform.
A perfect candidate has
- 5+ years professional experience
- Thrived in a consumer product role and delivered delightful features at scale
- The instinct to get on a whiteboard and explain thinking, and even faster to document that thinking into expected use cases and user behaviors, driving UX for new features from start to finish
- Scrappy data gatherer, then data-driven decision-maker
- Technical fluency that allows you to communicate with, understand, and earn the respect of world-class engineers and data scientists
- A track record of being proactive and persuading colleagues by constructing a compelling narrative both in-person and in-writing
- No ego. Strong focus on doing what is right for the customer and the company
- A demonstrated bias for action, history of taking ownership for results, and ability to dive deep at all levels
