We Work Remotely

At Forestry.io, we believe the web is one of humanity’s greatest achievements and our mission is to help people build a better web. We’re building a Git-backed content management system (CMS) and an open source site-editing toolkit (TinaCMS), both focused on the JAMstack. We’re a growing company with big dreams and ample opportunities for you to have an impact and grow with us.

We are looking to add a multi-dimensional, detail-oriented, no-task-is-too-large-or-too-small, self-directed People Ops Manager+ to our team. Internally we refer to this person as a “Swiss Army Knife,” as our ideal candidate is Jack/Jill-of-all-trades who is comfortable flexing a range of skills. This role is a mix of people ops, administrative work, special projects, creating structure around processes and just about anything else where there isn’t a clear owner. We see this person developing and growing with the organization and moving into a more focused people operations role as we scale. If you are a culture-carrier looking to get some people operations experience, an early-stage-startup aficionado, a builder, a person who creates order out of chaos and someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and diving in where needed, this could be your dream role!

What You'll Do:

This is a hybrid, diverse position covering the following:

  • Talent Acquisition Projects: Implementation/ownership of our Applicant Tracking System (Greenhouse), coordinating all candidate interviews for the team, aid in writing/editing job descriptions, assist in screening resumes and pitch in on screening calls, aid in ensuring that our interview processes are equitable and allow us to hire a diverse group of candidates.
  • Culture Ambassador: Uphold our values of respect, accountability, maximizing impact, and bringing clarity to ambiguity. Create and execute team building and appreciation events, manage any gifting, act as the eyes/ears of Forestry bringing team and employee issues and accomplishments to leadership, ensure that we are creating an environment that values and promotes inclusion and belonging, advocate for good remote-first practices within the org while delivering happiness and delight.
  • Human Resources Projects: Implementation of BambooHR and establishing an easy onboarding process for all new employees, managing our employee handbook, track employee PTO, assist with the creation and maintenance of employee policies.
  • Miscellaneous Operations, Project Management and Administration: Ad-hoc administrative tasks to help things run smoothly. Help facilitate all-hands/town halls, own the management and distribution of all assets (including laptops, keyboards etc), aid in building and developing decks with cross-functional team support, writing web or blog copy, data entry and pitching in where needed.

Who You Are:

  • You have a Bachelor's degree and have spent 1-5 years in a People Operations, Recruiting, Administrative, Project Management, Operations or a hybrid/generalist role ideally in a startup environment.
  • You have experience setting up business processes, policies and have a basic understanding of People Ops/HR (and you are eager to learn more!) and recruiting.
  • You have managed various projects from inception through completion -- you are an executor through and through.
  • You are comfortable in excel, powerpoint, google sheets and Slack, and you have solid verbal and written communications skills.
  • You are a self-starter, take initiative and are highly organized, agile, methodical, resourceful, detail-oriented and have strong prioritization and multitasking skills.
  • You are comfortable making decisions and love finding creative solutions to complex problems.
  • You are passionate about startups, excited to own a swath of divergent challenges, enjoy culture and team-building, know how to have fun and always remain calm and positive when $hit hits the fan.
