Java/Scala Service Engineer, hospitality industry, fully remote, 12-mo contract

We are seeking a backend engineer with 4+ years of experience building enterprise-scale and production-ready applications.

This is a 12-month contract with the opportunity for extension or conversion to FTE. This is a high visibility product team where you will get a chance to make a positive impact on customer experience in the hospitality industry, designing and building the next generation client architecture that currently serves 9M+ monthly visitors.

Skills

Ability to own work items and help cultivate new ones with a Product-first mindset*

GraphQL &REST API concepts and implementation patterns*

Experience writing and maintaining domain-driven microservices*

Agile (Scrum) development –ability to accurately size user stories

Experience with event-driven system architectures

Has the ability to work independently with a distributed team of remote engineers

Can help drive engineering best practices

Help mentor other engineers

Languages/frameworks

Java / Scala language*

Spring MVC

Spark experience preferred

Bash / Shell scripting for CI/CD pipelines

Tooling

AWS Lambda or Azure Functions*

CI/CD Pipelines (Any of: Jenkins, CircleCI, Github Actions, etc.)
