We are an award-winning, specialist web development company looking for a passionate and progressive front-end developer with at least 3 years working experience to join our team. You'll be part of a team with big ambitions (🚀) and have the chance to shape our business and culture long term.

You should have an extremely good eye for detail, be eager to continually improve your craft and write beautiful, clean code. We're based in Christchurch, New Zealand (🇳🇿) but also accepting remote applicants (🌏).

🧘‍♀️ The primary purpose of this role is to:

  • Translate UI design from Figma into React components for Gatsby and Next.js websites
  • Integrate said websites with headless CMS's (Sanity, Prismic, Shopify, etc)

🥷 The successful candidate will:

  • Have built at least a handful of completely custom websites - strictly no off-the-shelf themes (⛔️) - using static site generators (Gatsby, Jekyll, etc), frameworks (Next.js, etc) or monolithic CMS's (Craft, Shopify, WP, Silverstripe, etc)
  • Have real world experience building with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js, etc)
  • Have an extremely good eye for detail and an ability to implement UI design with near pixel perfect precision
  • Write clean, semantic HTML and utilise validation tools
  • Have an advanced understanding of CSS and lots of experience with
    • Responsive web-design
    • Tailwind CSS
    • BEM
  • Have a great understanding of vanilla JavaScript including
    • Consuming REST and GraphQL APIs
  • Have experience bringing the web to life through JavaScript animation libraries (GSAP, Anime.js, Framer Motion, etc)
  • Always maintain high quality work using testing and cross-browser compatibility tools
  • Have knowledge of search and performance best-practices as well as rich snippets, Open Graph, ARIA, etc
  • Stay up to date with other web standards and always choose the best tools and methods for the job
  • Have experience working with Git and GitLab or GitHub
  • Have a great attitude and enjoy plenty of downtime
