As the digital services leader, you'll be expected to take our $1.5m / year digital service to the next horizon (target $5m / year in 3 years). You will oversee our digital practice team, focusing on digital marketing campaigns, website design and development, and email design and development, as well as the team's current expansion into UI / UX and digital marketing management. The team you'll manage currently comprises a Director of Digital Services, Two Project Managers, a Lead Developer, a Design Director (30%) and freelance Designers &Developers. You will report to the Founder &SVP of SketchDeck.

Success in this role will come from:

  • Driving new opportunities and partnering with our business development team to grow team's work aligned to our overall mission &capabilities [40%].
  • Join business development calls with developed opportunities to secure client confidence
  • Build solutions, pricing &timelines to client's digital problems
  • Build &lead pitches, inspiring clients to partner with us
  • Create written RFI and RFP responses that win business
  • Develop proposal materials inclusive of case studies, initial POVs on prospective clients' businesses, and strategic presentations.
  • Input and influence how to best market and sell SketchDeck Digital products to potential clients.
  • Leading client communication, strategy and some project management on our largest digital projects, ensuring quality, timing, client satisfaction &profitability [30%].
  • Understand client goals and objectives
  • In partnership with the Director of Digital Services, build workable approaches and solutions that exceed these goals
  • Create strategies that will increase ROI of digital assets we build (e.g. SEO performance, conversion, etc)
  • Across the team, ensure projects are delivered with high quality, usability &exceed industry standards
  • Maintain senior level client communication &relationships through process, keeping confidence &satisfaction
  • Manage scope and billing through process, negotiating changes of scope if needed
  • Work with clients, team members and Director of Digital Services to identify &solve challenges that arise
  • Collaborate with team to ensure strategies and client requests translate into our work in a manageable way
  • Overseeing our own (SketchDeck's) digital presence (website &emails)
  • Managing &growing the digital practice [30%]
  • Manage team P&L &report performance to leadership team on a regular basis
  • Manage revenue pipeline and planning, identifying &addressing gaps / overflow of team capacity
  • Manage overall team impact, ensuring client ROI and satisfaction to drive future referral / repeat business
  • Manage team hires aligned to growth &profitability goals
  • Lead coaching, performance management, etc
  • Level up our team and capabilities aligned with our digital strategy
  • Report performance to leadership team on a regular basis
  • Manage partner agencies &freelancers for infrequent skill needs
  • Ensure collaboration across SketchDeck teams &functions, including creative impact &project success teams
  • Own the overall strategy for our digital service, including focus projects, platforms, etc
  • Create overall scalable approach aligned to our operating values to help us grow 10x over the next 5 years

  • Requirements

    • Strong culture &values
    • 10+ years of digital agency experience with 5+ years in leadership (managing team)
    • Proven record of leading &scaling a digital service line to $5m+
    • Strategic digital marketing, social &advertising expertise
    • Technical knowledge &understanding of delivering modern, performant websites &emails
    • Proven business development &client communication / relationship skills
    • Wide industry knowledge (e.g. understand popular frameworks, website trends, etc)
    • An understanding of user-experience, digital design, and front-end development.
    • Knowledge and experience of Wordpress and Webflow (the current platform for website development) is a big plus, with the ability to recommend and adapt to other CMS and platform needs based on client requirements.
    • Strong understanding of website KPIs
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
    • Strong creative and design sense - you know what good design looks like!
    • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and extremely resourceful
    • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
    • Strong problem-solving project management experience and skills
    • Strong organization, time management, and verbal and written communication skills
    • A self-motivated individual
    • Ability to successfully collaborate with all levels of the organization
