SubHQ is looking for a confident, self-starting, and innovative individual to fill our fully-remote position of UI/UX Designer. This position will assist with the planning, collaboration, and creation of optimized user experiences and design for our web application. This person should possess strong skills in data-driven product UI/UX Design, and should have real-world experience with the latest UI/UX trends and best practices. This position will collaborate with the company’s Product, Marketing, and Software Development teams to determine user interface requirements for each project and deliver functional and appealing high-fidelity feature designs. This position will work closely with developers and other key stakeholders throughout the design process to ensure that feature requirements are met.

What You’ll Do 
  • Create wireframes, or prototypes with visual or interface elements using standard industry best practices/tools
  • Collaborate and communicate with business and development stakeholders in a collaborative startup environment
  • Develop a comprehensive UI/UX style guide for implementation of design on future feature updates and enhancements
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure the live experience meets the criteria and functionality as presented in the visual concepts. 
  • Create deliverables that communicate our proposed designs effectively. 

Requirements 
  • Experience with data-driven UX/UI product design
  • Experience creating wireframes, or prototypes with visual or interface elements using standard industry best practices/tools 
  • Proficiency in creating UI/UX designs for a responsive experience (mobile, tablet, and desktop concepts) 
  • Passionate about collaborating and communicating with business and development stakeholders in a collaborative startup environment 
  • Experience and proven track record with creating complex UX workflows
  • Experience creating high-fidelity wireframes for web-based software applications
  • Working knowledge about emerging user interface / interaction design standards and best practices 
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript technological capabilities and limitations
  • Can develop a comprehensive UI/UX style guide for implementation of design on future feature updates and enhancements 
  • Knowledge and implementation of design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Firma, InVision, Balsamiq, Axure, Figma, Photoshop, and Adobe XD. 
  • Knowledgeable about website optimization across different browsers and devices
  • Ability to lead and/or participate in projects from the design phase through final testing and QA. 
  • Accountability in ensuring brand and design standards are met on every project 
  • Desire to collaborate with product development to identify user needs, goals, behaviors, and pain points.

Nice to Have
  • Experience creating marketing assets for web design and marketing materials
  • Experience creating prototyping
  • Working knowledge of design best practices including typography, color and layout 
  • Basic understanding of A/B testing practices 
  • Illustration skills to create unique icons &graphics 
  • Ability to create designs for presentations in multiple formats (PowerPoint, video, webinars, brochures, demo presentations, one-pagers, etc.)
