Job Description




We are a Digital Media Agency with a focus on Web Development &we are in search of contract engineers or teams. An ideal candidate will have experience in developing Shopify &Shopify Plus websites, across both desktop and mobile environments on the Shopify platform. We need someone whose English is fluent &can be (Project Manager facing, client-facing or both), the ability to liaison between project managers, a distributed team of developers, document requirements &estimate new projects. 

Job Responsibilities




  • Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
  • Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables.
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze economics of project plans and provide actionable feedback relating to cost benefit and return-on-investment standards.
  • Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes.
  • Oversee acquisition of resources and materials as needed before and during projects by talking with customers, team members, managers, and in-house accountants and operations staff.
  • Anticipate details of future projects by communicating directly with customers and staying informed of relevant trends and industry news.

Job Skills &Qualifications




Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive leadership experience and strong teaming abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Information Technology or Software Engineering field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in management
  • Experience in managing task/bug tickets for the technical team. Gaining estimates and managing the team toward ticket resolution.
  • Experience in the definition of and writing proposals and estimates
  • Experience in the management of Shopify stores and knowledge of development ecosystems
Preferred:
  • Prefer three years management experience in the IT field, including development work and interactions with customers
  • Experience managing and communicating with CEO and executive leadership in a respectful manner with understanding of the typical protocols in interacting with clients as a senior level
  • Experience using Git revision management
  • Experience using Ticketing tools (Git tickets, Jira, Bugzilla, etc)
  • Experience with Project Management tools (Trello, Monday, etc)
  • Experience with Scrum and Agile methodologies
  • Experience and ability to use chat and video tools such as slack and zoom on a daily basis
Nice to Have:
  • Proficiency with at least one web development language, such as Python, Php, Ruby, etc. or client side JavaScript Scripting experience.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: 
  • Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, ETC)
  • Linux CLI
  • CMS Platforms (Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla)
  • Web Application Design and Development
  • E-Commerce Platforms
  • Mobile Applications (iOS, Android)
  • Evidence of continuing education, such as certifications, a plus

Contract Location:
Remote - Virtual -- Expected to work remotely and communicate by phone, email, and video conference.
Core team is in Western USA (PST), but the broader team is multinational in various time zones.

Contract Frequency:
20 to 30 hours per week
