Position Objectives: 
To lead medium and large Web and technical projects and to provide training and support to other project managers and PETA and PETA Foundation staff members
 
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:  
• Manage several projects, of varying levels of complexity, scope, and budget, at one time. Projects will range from mid-size website updates to complete revamps, new mobile apps, CRM set up or upgrades, custom Salesforce projects, Engaging Networks enhancements, and more
• Key emphasis on projects involving data collection and management of our supporters’ data across multiple applications
• Lead cross-functional teams of designers, developers, QA, marketers, and development professionals and facilitate all phases of the project lifecycle
• Effectively manage all project phases by communicating with the team and monitoring progress
• Collaborate with developers and designers to establish the technical vision for the project
• Develop project schedules based on WBS estimates and business needs, hold teams accountable, and bring projects to completion on schedule 
• Elicit requirements from stakeholders and use them to create clear, comprehensive and concise requirements documentation
• Identify risks, create mitigation strategies, and execute them 
• Draft product testing instructions for the Quality Acceptance team and user acceptance tests for stakeholders to independently test new and updated products
• Conduct trainings related to features and operation of products
• Communicate with all levels of the organization, internal, cross-functional and external, and keep stakeholders up-to-date on project statuses
• Follow established procedures and keep all project materials accurate and up-to-date 
• Complete project post-mortems and ensure that lessons learned are shared with the team and applied to future projects undertaken by the department
• Deliver excellent customer service to numerous stakeholders and requesting departments
• Perform any other duties assigned by the manager
 
Qualifications: 
• Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent work experience 
• 7 years of experience as a project manager or business analyst for web-based and mobile app development
• Project management certification strongly preferred 
• Experience as a developer or quality assurance technician a plus
• Knowledge of a variety of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile) and tools 
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
• Demonstrated use of Asana is desired
• Experience with content management systems, advocacy and fundraising software, website analytics, and customer relationship management platforms is preferred
• Knowledge of internet trends, development and design best practices, and related laws is preferred, as well as a high degree of self-motivation to stay abreast of new technology, tools, and methodologies
• Ability to understand the technical components of the projects being managed 
• Demonstrated ability to gather project requirements through a variety of elicitation techniques 
• Strong writing skills used to document requirements, draft other project documents, and to communicate with teams day-to-day
• Excellent organizational skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal communication skills, including ability to lead meetings and present to small audiences
• Exhibits a high level of emotional intelligence to build strong working relationships and manage difficult situations, such as competing priorities within the PMO
• Ability manage multiple projects and tasks at one time and to prioritize daily tasks based on project requirements and business objectives
• Proven ability to exercise independent judgment
