For this role, we’re looking for an experienced recruiter that can attract, engage, and retain top talent. In this role you’ll use your relationship building and organizational abilities to create and implement recruiting campaigns, provide exceptional support to applicants and hiring managers, and assist the People Ops team with recruiting initiatives to build our world class team.
This role reports to our VP of People Ops, and will work closely with a second full-time Recruiter, a contract sourcer, and the rest of the People Ops team, as well as our Editors and Strategists. The salary range for this role is between $70-85,000 USD yearly (plus benefits as listed below), dependent on experience.

- You’re able to review reports in an ATS and make data-backed recommendations or impactful changes to processes
- You’re able to work independently and asynchronously from other team members
- You’re excited by the idea of coaching other team members on interviewing, making offers, or sourcing candidates
- You either have an active interest in content marketing and want to learn more about this field, or have worked in a content or content-adjacent role in the past
- You’re able to work EST or CST hours to overlap with our candidates’ needs and other team members’ schedules
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience in recruiting, preferably in a remote, in-house role
- 1+ years coaching other recruiters, sourcers, or hiring managers on interviewing, sourcing, or candidate communication
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Proficiency with an ATS (we use Greenhouse, but any experience will do!)
- Experience sourcing and interviewing creative roles, including writers, marketers, editors, and freelancers
- Experience writing job ads based on minimal direction from hiring managers or company leadership
- Experience managing a recruiting budget
- Knowledge of how to interpret trends in hiring data and make recommendations for improvement
- A general understanding of content marketing
- Willingness to work flexible hours (as needed, based on requisition load and candidates’ requested interview time
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with hiring managers and company leadership to write new job descriptions, share new roles, interview applicants, and make decisions on which candidates should proceed in the hiring process
- Working with our Recruiter to coordinate the review of candidate projects, interviews, and offers
- Creating, executing, and reporting on sourcing campaigns to fill gaps in our hiring pipeline (in collaboration with our Recruiter and contract sourcer)
- Sharing recruiting best practices across the company, including coaching others on how to interview or grade candidate projects appropriately
- Finding new ways to continuously improve all recruiting processes, from sourcing to extending offers
- Tracking and reporting on hiring KPIs on a weekly basis
- Using data in our ATS, Greenhouse, to understand hiring trends and make recommendations to the VP of People Ops on changes or process improvements
- Promoting the employer brand to potential candidates via Glassdoor, LinkedIn, and other channels
- Managing the company’s recruiting and hiring budget, and finding new and diverse locations where jobs or the Animalz brand should be promoted
