Data Virtuality, a pioneering Data Virtualization software provider based in Germany, is seeking a seasoned Senior QA Automation Developer (Backend) to join our globally operating team. As part of our commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions, we require a dedicated professional to enhance our testing frameworks and drive excellence across our product releases.

 

THE POSITION

As a Senior QA Automation Developer (Backend), you will not just be a part of our team but a key driver of our success. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining advanced automated testing libraries and frameworks, collaborating closely with the development and product teams to ensure our software meets the highest standards, and spearheading the integration of automated tests into our CI/CD processes. Your technical decisions will significantly influence our automation strategies and overall product quality, making you an integral part of our operations.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance automated testing libraries, frameworks, and tools.
  • Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure quality releases and customer satisfaction.
  • Improve existing integration and API tests and develop new ones using Java.
  • Integrate automated tests and tools into CI/CD processes by developing QA pipelines and quality gates.
  • Expand and maintain the automated testing infrastructure.
  • Continuously refine QA processes and tooling, aligning improvements with business objectives.
  • Make technical decisions to optimize automation strategies and best practices throughout the QA team.
  • Conduct peer reviews and enforce coding and testing standards to maintain high-quality automation.
  • Mentor team members in testing tools and automation, serving as an expert in automation best practices.
YOUR TECH STACK:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software test automation.
  • Proficiency in developing scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks.
  • Extensive knowledge of SQL and relational databases, with a strong background in database testing automation via JDBC.
  • Expertise in REST API automation using Java 8+, RestAssured or Retrofit, JUnit, and Maven.
  • Proficient in Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipeline construction using tools like Jenkins or GitLab.
NICE-TO-HAVE:
  • Experience with ETL/ELT products, data warehousing, and RDBMS.
  • Knowledge of Python scripting and testing distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with BI clients like Power BI, Tableau and data integration systems like Pentaho, and Informatica.
  • Experience in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
YOUR PERSONAL STACK:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct detailed analysis to determine the root causes of issues.
  • A good command of English, with fluency in Ukrainian or Russian, is an advantage.
