We Work Remotely
Float is the world’s leading software for teams to plan their time and, behind it, is a world-class team looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to join us. From New York to the UK, Canada to South Africa—our Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams work asynchronously, helping brands such as Airbnb, Buzzfeed, and Ogilvy plan and manage their time better. Float is self-funded, profitable, and growing. If you’re a go-getter, align with our values, and are looking to join a team that’s passionate about helping others work and live more productively, we want to hear from you. Here are a few tips from our CEO to make sure your resume stands out from the crowd.

Why We’re Hiring For This Role

As the workplace decentralizes, increasingly moving toward hybrid and remote policies, Float is fast becoming the default solution to centralize who’s working on what, when and where.

We’ve established a strong, sustainable product-market fit. Our customers love us for our simple, visual solution to team planning and time management. We have a mature platform including mobile apps, dedicated integrations, security settings and support.

The result? Our customer base is growing rapidly, with hundreds and thousands of users, across our resource planning and time tracking products.

As such, we now have more opportunities to learn from our customers. We’ve made tremendous headway in the evolution of our insights team, to gather quantitative data, speak with our customers, and answer our questions.

We’re seeking a Senior Product Manager experienced in asking those questions, distilling insights, ideating and delivering beautifully elegant features that continue our trend of simple and visual. We believe we have the foundations, and ambition, to be a category leader in a maturing market with uncapped potential. We’re seeking folks that are motivated to help define the future of team planning for teams around the world.

Our CEO, Glenn, explains the important role you will play within our Product team. Watch this video.
You’ll be working asynchronously with a bright, dedicated team from across the globe, with a strong focus on taking complex problems and creating solutions that feel simple and intuitive for our customers.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

You’ll primarily be focused on our web application and mobile app user experience. You’ll pair with another seasoned Senior Product Manager, whose focus is on scale initiatives and managing our integration family.

Early on, you’ll collaborate closely with our User Experience Lead to understand our customers, and the current challenges and opportunities. You’ll gain familiarity with our production process, and help deliver on projects already in flight.

From there, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate on studies to validate ideas, and gather insights. You’ll start to form ideas and document proposals to inform our roadmap.

Potential projects may include:
  • Designing solutions for notifying teams who are in the office and who are working remotely
  • Defining a ‘home’ destination for team members that delivers what’s important to them, including upcoming milestones and requests.
  • Delivering a world-class onboarding experience to enable teams of any size to roll out Float with ease

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate experience in being:
  • Accountable for ideating and executing product features that are simple, visual, and scalable across a global customer base
  • Comfortable working with insights and customer success teams to ask questions and seek answers to inform product decisions
  • Understanding the basics of data structure and how APIs work
  • Writing proposals and specifications for product features
  • Pairing with experienced design teams with a high value on visual design
  • Improving existing practices and processes that help a Product team learn and scale
As a fully remote team, we’re looking for someone who thrives with long blocks of time for deep work, and where asynchronous is the default form of communication. Don’t worry—you will have significant deep work time since we have very few meetings.
