We’re looking for a Senior Global Mobility Specialist to join our Global Mobility Team within the People Operations Department at Yelp. This position will focus primarily on non-US Immigration, with heavy emphasis on Canada, UK and Germany, though you will be exposed to US immigration as well. You will also focus on domestic and international relocations, preparing cost projections along with liaising with our relocation and tax advisors.
We’re looking for a subject matter expert in all things Global Mobility (Immigration, relocation and taxation) and a team player that can adapt to a fast-paced and ever-changing environment!
Where You Come In:
- You will manage new hire immigration cases and serve as the point of contact for recruiters to assess if sponsorship for potential candidates is an option.
- You will be the point of contact for the new hire in conjunction with Yelp’s immigration counsel to ensure the new hire can start on time.
- You will work with current employees to ensure continued work authorization including amendments, extensions, permanent residency and business travel.
- You will continuously communicate timeline with the various parties involved –employee, manager, Business Partners, and Yelp’s immigration counsel.
- You will own the internal process for for permanent residency requirements and ensure we follow all country specific immigration compliance requirements and documentation.
- You will manage both domestic and international relocation and transfer cases.
- You will collaborate with internal partners such as People Operations, Business Partners, Recruiting, Payroll, Legal, Corporate Tax, Finance and Accounting to create solutions on streamlining cross-functional processes.
- You will manage employee and employer immigration compliance in partnership with internal and external partners.
- You will ensure immigration data is accurately maintained and work in conjunction with the broader People Operations team advising on Global Right to Work Checks and immigration compliance and audits.
- You will assist with vendor management with Yelp’s immigration counsel, relocation and tax advisors.
- You will help maintain Yelp’s internal Wiki pages which include process workflows, policy guidelines, and other necessary resources
What it Takes to Succeed:
- 5+ years of experience in Global Mobility, with a preference for in-house experience
- Familiarity with Global Immigration (non-US specific) strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of relocation/mobility policies and processes in line with industry standards
- Knowledge and experience working with tax, legal, benefits, and immigration issues
- Experience managing vendors preferred
- Customer-service focused
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective and concise verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to demonstrate complete discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Workday, Google Suite and MS Office
