We Work Remotely
Here at Beyond, we are passionate about helping short-term rental owners and managers be successful. Backed by the world-class Bessemer Venture Partners, we have grown from a bootstrapped company of a few to the market leader in our category.  We attribute our success to our belief that the people are the most important part of a business and our commitment to being a fantastic place to work.

It's with that in mind that Beyond Pricing is looking to add a Senior DevOps Engineer to our growing team. You will have the opportunity to build tools that make our engineering teams more productive, iterate and improve the infrastructure to scale with our growing business and be an advocate for the technical decision making relating to our engineering team.

Beyond's Engineering team believes in:

  • Reducing scope - The best way to ship more stuff is to ship less!
  • Shipping early - Getting feedback as early as possible even if the project/feature isn’t 100% there
  • Iterating and improving - Once you got the feedback and there is a need for it, go back and improve the v1
  • Taking ownership - Owning the code you shipped as you are the expert and knows best
  • Driving revenue - At the end of the day we are here to make Beyond a successful business.

As our Senior DevOps Engineer you’ll be responsible for:

  • Operating and supporting mission-critical services in our cloud environment
  • Impacting Beyond success through the impact of CD and DevOps decisions
  • Supporting Senior and Staff engineers on migration projects that involve changes to our infrastructure and monitoring
  • Supporting software teams while continuously working to make the developer experience better
  • Participating in long term planning for infrastructure and process improvements to support company growth

So what kind of person are we looking for in this role? The person who will be successful in this role will be:

  • Curious - You are driven to understand how things work or why they don't. You are interested in finding out how your work impacts our customers and the world they live in.
  • Collaborative - You enjoy exploring and committing as a team, you welcome others' ideas, and you value teamwork and team decision-making over being right and having things going your way.
  • Service-oriented - your passion for helping others be successful is at the core of what motivates you.
  • Resilient - You can adapt and roll up your sleeves to help others. You operate at a stable pace with visibility most of the time and you are ready to embrace change when it happens.

Now that we've told you what the job looks like, here are the qualifications we're looking for in a candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience with one or more of the major cloud providers (GCP, AWS)
  • Expertise in IaC (Terraform, Cloud Formation, GC Deployment Manager)
  • Expertise in running multi-team environments with Continuous Deployment (TBD, Concourse CI, we process 200 production deployments a month
  • Expertise in Docker and containers orchestration (Nomad, Kubernetes)
  • Experience running a variety of migration initiatives such as data strategy rehauls, large codebase decoupling, Information Security and Compliance, ...
  • Experience setting up large scale systems observability (We ingest 3 billion log events a month)
  • Strong proficiency with Linux systems admin and scripting (Bash, Python, Ruby, Golang, ...)
  • Strong proficiency with configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Ability to mentor and sponsor others, organize and drive team delivery and help others grow in their technical development

We are passionate about cultivating a diverse team so if you think you have what it takes but don't necessarily meet every point on the job description, please apply anyway!
