About the role
The Zapata Cloud team helps configure, monitor, and maintain the hosted cloud infrastructure for all Zapata initiative.
This includes configuring and securing the hosted architecture of Zapata’s workflow platform Orquestra™ and assisting
with setting up managed Kubernetes cluster and cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) provider resources for research and development projects.
We help educate on security best practices and helping everyone find the best components for a solution.
You will use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools from across the open-source community including Kubernetes, ArgoCD and Crossplane.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Architecting and building distributed systems, as part of our managed Orquestra™ while exercising deep knowledge of their principals and trade-offs.
- Helping team members find the best solution for their project.
- Managing Kubernetes resources and deployments using tools like Kubectl, Helm or YAML.
- Work with a team of software developers in a multi-feature development environment
- Engineer, record, and document solutions to common and difficult problems.
- Collaborate with the product team to improve the implementation and configuration of products and platforms.
Required Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related degree
- Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker
- Experience with running production Kubernetes Clusters.
- Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure or GCP
- Experience with scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers and Firewalls.
- Experience with systems monitoring, alerting, and analytics.
- Experience with Golang to develop Kubernetes Operators
- Scripting language experience (Bash, Python).
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Comfortable with multi-feature Git environment and related best practices.
