As a Senior Android Engineer, your work will be the primary face of HomeValet to our Android customers. You’ll work with your lead as part of a collaborative team to develop the apps that allow our customers to interact with and control our IoT platform and their device to allow safe, secure home delivery of all types of goods.
We expect you to be experienced in Android development and we also expect you to be eager to learn, improving, and extending your skills. While you might not be an expert in all mobile platforms, we expect that you’ll be able to review work in any platform and, in a pinch at least, contribute outside of your primary skillset.
You should have a good eye for design and an excellent ability to execute on it. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll help shape the features in the platform and the expression of those features in the UI of our mobile applications.
Because we expect to operate at large scale, testing is critical to our execution and operations. We expect that you’ll write unit tests and assist in developing automated integration and UI tests as needed. All team members play an integral role in assuring good design and high-quality code by participating in design and code reviews.
As a small company, we all wear many hats. We expect you to be able to work independently and to hire/work with engineers that can do the same. Whatever you’re good at, we will find a way for you to be able to do it. We expect to rapidly grow both our market penetration and our team. We expect that you and your responsibilities will grow with us.
You’ll have the chance to be in at the very beginning of a company that we expect to transform home delivery, giving people the security, convenience, and reduced cost that will free them to focus on their family, life, and work. We expect you to bring your passion to our mission. We also expect you to take care of yourself because we’re in this for the long haul and we want you to be with us for it as well. Part of your job will be making sure that you and your teamwork in a sustainable way for the good of us all.
