Senior Android Developer, UI, UX, Java, Kotlin, Remote Working, Work From Home

Senior Android Developer required to work for a fast growing and exciting Mobile Technology company based in Central London. However, due to Covid-19, this will be a fully remote role and we can even consider candidates in a GMT+4 time zone.

First and foremost, we want a good, strong, proven Android Developer…but ideally someone with mentoring / team leadership skills. Secondly, we want someone who has a passion for building amazing experiences used by millions of users. They are a fast-moving but quality focused team building the next generation social video platform.


Responsibilities:

  • Building quality interactive experiences using the latest technologies
  • Working closely with other team members (along with mentoring them) across frontend, backend &product design
  • Questioning established norms and coming up with improvements
  • Thinking like the users of the application and anticipating what they will love

Must have:

  • Ability to work independently and lead a mid-sized team
  • Experience with Clean Architecture pattern
  • Experience with Coroutines and jetpack libraries
  • Experience of delivering and maintaining commercial Android apps in an Agile environment
  • Demonstrably high level of Java and Kotlin knowledge
  • Understanding of Android UI/UX best practices for building excellent user experiences
  • Ability to translate requirements into well-engineered solutions
  • Good understanding of memory management, networking and concurrency in mobile environments
  • Experience and awareness of the challenges of building new features into existing apps

Nice to have:

  • Experience with video frameworks including MediaCodec and Exoplayer
  • Experience with OpenGL, GpuImage &ARCore
  • Experience with audio frameworks and digital audio processing
