Code.org is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding participation in computer science by making it available in more schools, and increasing participation by women and underrepresented students of color. Our vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science.

We believe computer science and computer programming should be part of the core curriculum in education, alongside other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses, such as biology, physics, chemistry and algebra.

JOB SUMMARY

Code.org is looking for a Researcher to support the K-12 Computer Science Access Report. In this role, you will review school-level course catalogs and call schools directly to determine if the school offers a high-quality foundational computer science course. This role is critical to our effort to determine the prevalence of computer science education across the country. 

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • A bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with or willingness/ability to learn basic functions in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of the public school system and how to navigate school websites and elicit information from school officials.  
  • Ability to work independently with a geographically dispersed team.
  • Prior experience in education or data entry preferred.
