QA Engineer (Remote)

Reporting to: Delivery Architect on the project.

Terms: Contract

Please note: This position is a remote position for candidates based in Europe.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary agile team consisting of Frontend and Backend engineers, DevOps and QA. You will be responsible for developing and executing automated tests to ensure product quality.

As a QA Engineer at NearForm, you will play an important role in the development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for creating comprehensive test plans/cases, prioritising and planning testing activities, tracking quality assurance metrics and bugs, regression testing, and liaising with internal teams to review system requirements. 

As you’ll be working remotely, it’s also imperative that other team members are kept up to date so proactive communication is key.

 What we ask of you

    • Experience working in a high performing software development team
    • In-depth knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
    • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
    • Strong knowledge of automated testing tools
    • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
    • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts 
  • Identify, record, document and track bugs
  • Perform regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  • Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a high performing software development team
  • Proven experience in software quality assurance
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
