A top Hedge Fund is looking for an experienced Principal Data Engineer to help deliver and enhance the firms Data and Investment Strategies. The role will be part of the Data Science group, which has a lot of influence and license to drive decisions within the firm.
The Principal Data Engineer needs to be passionate about Data. There will be opportunity to work on Machine Learning needs but what comes first is the Data so that is what the focus of the role will be. The team works with lots of different alternative data sets so experience in this area is a plus.
From a technical skill set, the Engineer will need strong Python (Pandas), SQL, and Spark experience (Must's), and any experience with Dask, Prefect, AWS or other similar tools is ideal.
Key Qualifications/ Skills
- Masters or PhD in Computational Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences or related field
- 4+ years industry/ full time Data Engineering experience
- Strong experience with Python (Pandas, Sci-Kit Learn), SQL, SPARK
- Experience with Dask, Prefect, AWS desirable
- Investment Domain experience in not necessary
- Great Communication skills
