About the Team
The AllTrails marketing team is building a global, beloved outdoors brand. We launch and scale creative and performance-driven marketing levers to bring more people onto the AllTrails platform, and develop compelling angles to engage with and retain existing members.
As Marketing Strategy &Operations Manager, you will drive key strategic business processes within the marketing team in partnership with the broader marketing organization and cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Analytics, Product, Research, Engineering). You will drive annual marketing strategic planning, lead marketing OKR goal-setting and monitoring, and partner closely with Research and Analytics to drive ongoing customer research programs and insight gathering. You are a highly analytical thinker with strong relationship building skills and have the capacity to represent marketing cross-functionally at senior levels of the organization. You are versed in project management and process improvement with the ability to ensure successful execution of marketing programs and accompanying processes, tools, and guidelines.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading the annual and quarterly marketing strategic planning process in partnership with the Marketing Leadership team
- Leading and optimizing process to operationalize our marketing plan — inclusive of OKR goal-setting and measurement, and sharing with the broader organization
- Partnering with Marketing Leadership to allocate resources according to strategic needs of the business. Leading resource prioritization process and providing recommendations to the CMO for consideration and approval
- Driving the marketing materials for the quarterly Board of Directors meeting in partnership with the CMO and cross-functional Leadership team
- Supporting Marketing Leadership on executive report-outs to the Management team and Board of Directors
- Preparing and presenting progress against goals and relevant marketing metrics to the marketing team, Leadership team, and broader organization
- Driving ongoing customer research programs. Assessing existing research methodologies. Collaborating with the cross-functional team to identify gaps and develop a robust research plan that informs marketing strategy.
- Surfacing key customer insights and develop a plan for sharing across marketing and the broader org to inform downstream decision-making
- Overseeing marketing budget and proactively partnering with Finance to ensure ongoing budget alignment
- Prioritizing marketing engineering and analytic roadmap requests in partnership with Marketing Leadership team, then working with those teams to bring to life, manage, and deliver
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in consulting and/or business strategy
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in a rigorous performance data environment and the ability to pull insights directly from internal dashboards (for example, Looker)
- Insatiable curiosity and desire to test and learn — we are a high A/B testing environment
- Self-directed with a high level of accountability and natural inclination to take ownership;comfortable with ambiguity
- Strong collaborator with empathy, open-mindedness, and humility
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills and experience keeping varying groups and teams aligned and informed
- Balance of right and left brain;can think big picture but also get in the weeds to execute
- Passion for the outdoors
Bonus Points:
- Experience in consumer tech and/or outdoor industry
- Experience working in marketing
- Experience working for a subscription-based company
- M.B.A. from an accredited institution

$130,000 –$170,000 a year
A successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on various factors such as skills, experience, training and credentials, as well as other business purposes or needs. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range of their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the factors and circumstances of each case.
