We Work Remotely
We’re hiring a remote full-time managing editor to handle the editing and production of long-form articles for our clients. You would be responsible for making sure every article you're in charge of is error-free, fits the client’s brand, and meets our company's style and SEO standards. You'll also publish the articles, interact with clients, and select and train writers.

This editor will largely handle our clients in the B2B and B2C tech space. In a given week you might edit articles about crypto, machine learning, programming, SaaS, business, consumer finance, and other topics. The ideal candidate has a gift for making complex topics accessible and engaging.

If you're obsessed with grammar, have the AP Stylebook memorized, and are easily fascinated by most any topic, you're the perfect fit. You're a creative who also loves the technical aspects of editing. You can write a compelling headline and meta description and then check for standardized formatting of em-dashes in the same moment. You have sharp editing intuition and know how to help a writer become stronger in their craft while also keeping things moving.

As one of the members of our editorial team, you'll help strengthen the systems that allow us to grow multimillion dollar businesses. Plus, the articles you work on will be read by hundreds of thousands of people.

Experience in content marketing, doing agency work, and SEO are highly valued. We love people with journalism backgrounds too!

Your core responsibilities will include:
  • Editing articles we produce for clients to make sure they’re error-free and fit their voice.
  • Working with a team of writers to provide feedback and help them improve their craft.
  • Working with our editorial team to improve our editorial and publishing systems.
  • Having the final say on when content is ready to go live on as many as a dozen different blogs.
  • Interacting with clients and being the liaison between them and the writers.
  • Creating and maintaining style guides for your clients.

Requirements
  • You’re a meticulous editor who loves interfacing with writers and helping them grow.
  • You’re punctual — deadlines are not options for you.
  • You’re a skilled writer who can compose engaging content.
  • You're confident interfacing with clients and writers on Zoom calls and handling tricky conversations.
  • You know AP Style like the back of your hand and can pick up client style guides with ease.
  • You're comfortable using Wordpress and navigating a CMS.
  • You have great communication and people skills, and you're experienced in and comfortable managing client expectations and making sure clients are well taken care of.
  • You're a flexible and agile. You don't bat an eye at a fast pace or a rapidly growing and changing work environment.
  • You're capable of working autonomously. You're happy with the freedom and you don’t need or want to be managed.
  • You're friendly, eager to jump in and make the job your own, and love to contribute to tangible business growth and success.
