Hi there! Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Xavier Armand and I am the co-founder of The Vaan Group (www.vaangroup.com): a fully remote UX design and engineering agency with headquarters in NYC. We’re looking to hire a senior frontend engineer to work on e-commerce projects.
We build commerce engines. We're not a 360 agency. We're not a marketing agency. We're an award-winning design and engineering studio. That’s our difference. Our e-commerce stores are designed and built to give our clients a technical edge over their competition. To do this, we synthesize business requirements, UX requirements, marketing requirements, technology requirements and creative requirements into a single digital shopping experience built for our clients and their consumers – a commerce engine. Our technology becomes the foundation upon which business' scale their operations, escalate their marketing efforts and grow their sales. The value of our work is defined by how big of a moat our clients’ technology creates between them, their competition, and Amazon.
Our clients range from large e-commerce enterprises (>$100M per year) to successful mid-stage ($1M - $100M per year) direct to consumer (DTC) e-commerce brands. We very often work with the following platforms and technologies: Javascript, React, Next.js, Shopify Plus, Contentful, Prismic, ReCharge Payments, and Algolia
We’re a realistic group, not looking for rockstar ninja wizards or whatever people say these days. Our team resides (or is working from) around the USA, Poland, Dominican Republic, Spain, Brazil, and Norway. We are looking for junior engineers that want to grow and learn in a fast-paced agency with exciting clients
- You will work closely with mid-level engineers
- You'll learn eCommerce
- Opportunities to grow
- Bonus if interested in A/B testing
Agencies are problem solvers by nature - we often march forward with 70% of a brief and our clients expect us to complete the puzzle. A perfect candidate has well-formed opinions, great discipline, naturally established work habits, and takes delight in their work.
A great quote about what we're looking for from people who have been managing remote teams longer than us:
"Everyone has to be an A-player. Remote team members are used to four to six hours of focused, uninterrupted work every day. You have to be able to get through problems on your own and be productive without asking for help. There’s no substitute for skill and experience in those cases."
We look forward to hearing from you!
