Amida is currently looking for Mid Level Java Engineer to join our team in DC. In this role, you will be focused on the design and implementation of Java-based software platforms, applications, and features for our healthcare client. You will proactively participate in every aspect of the software development life cycle including design, engineering, development, configuration, integration, testing, installation, modification, and support.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics, or related field is required
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering and development
- 3+ years of Java-specific development experience including Spring and Spring Boot
- 1+ years of experience in an HL7 FHIR implementation such as HAPI FHIR
- Experience working with healthcare information systems for the health insurance industry
- Experience using other healthcare standards such as CCDA or HL7 Version 2 messages
- Ability to write and maintain technical documentation for the application interfaces developed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and drive to deliver best-in-class software products
- Experience developing, testing, and documenting RESTful APIs
- Strong analytical abilities, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
Preferred Skills
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS, MIS or a related technical field or equivalent work experience
- Familiarity with ONC or CMS FHIR initiatives
- Experience in Javascript, Python, Clojure, Ruby, or Go
