To support Navy Federal by providing comprehensive architectural leadership with a focus in the security architecture domain. The candidate will help lead architecture planning, identify business and technical capabilities needed, documenting current state architectures, make recommendations for future state based on best practices and practical considerations around Navy Federal’s business needs, and review product and design decisions that touch on security architecture concerns.
Responsibilities
•Partner with business leadership, IT management, Information Security and IT technical and operational teams ensure that architectural directions align with and support both business and IT strategies
•Support and contribute to efforts to introduce new business and technical capabilities to Navy Federal, including participating in RFIs, RFPs, vendor reviews, product selection and project security design reviews
•Support early-stage business projects, discovery efforts, and engagements to provide guidance on security concerns through architecture deliverables, technical analyses or proposing security approaches for new platforms or vendors
•Create artifacts to support architecture governance, including standards, frameworks, advisories, research papers, reference models and reference architectures
•Present enterprise architecture-related information to various enterprise teams, including portfolio governance, business working groups, IT leadership or business leadership
•Act as a Subject Matter of Expert for all enterprise Identity and Access Management modernization initiatives
•Align/drive Navy Federal's architectural strategies with Navy Federal business and ISD strategic goals
•Anticipate internal and/or external business challenges including regulatory;recommend process, product or service enhancements
•Build and maintain relationships with team members, management, key stakeholders and/or external contacts (vendors, etc.)
•Collaborate on reviews to assess the integrity and quality of proposed technical solutions
•Develop and apply architectural governance based on business and information technology strategies
•Develop architectural documentation and/or artifacts for use in technology projects, mentoring, internal training and product evaluation
•Develop technical solutions for business systems and functions that align with Navy Federal strategies
•Develop/apply architectural reference patterns that guide the selection, development, implementation and use of information technology within the enterprise
•Ensure architectural strategies are consistently and applied
•Plan, develop, review and enforce enterprise architectural standards
•Provide forward thinking technical expertise in current and emerging technologies, trends and practices
•Provide technical leadership in the architecture discipline and development of information technology solutions
•Lead, guide and mentor less experienced staff
•Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications –All required unless otherwise noted
•Prior experience as an Architect with focus on Security domains such as Identity and Access Management and Application Access Services Security.
•Familiarity with current and emerging e-business and intranet access security-related technology trends (e.g. access orchestration, federated identity access single sign-on, authentication/authorization schemes, two-factor/multi-factor technologies, cloud and mobile related secure access solutions)
•Experience assessing, authoring and evolving business and technical architectures from risk reduction perspective.
•Demonstrated ability to influence and guide strategic thinking and be perceived as a Security Technology Architecture trusted advisor by IT and business leaders.
•Excellent interpersonal and consultancy skills and strong leadership qualities
•Basic certification or highly knowledgeable in at least one recognized security architecture framework, preferably the Open Group O-ESA.
•Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
•Experience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors
•Significant experience in performing analysis of business processes and functions
•Significant experience in work as an engineer or technical subject matter expert in two or more of the following areas: infrastructure;data;application;and/or security related technology
•Advanced analytical and conceptual skills to create original concepts/theories for various projects
•Advanced skill troubleshooting and resolving technical problems
•Effective database and presentation software skills
•Effective skill applying innovative approaches to solve technical design issues
•Effective skill creating system diagrams for review by both technical and non-technical audiences
•Effective skill identifying patterns of software quality and reusability

Desired Qualifications
•CISSP certification or equivalent
•ISSAP is a plus
•Knowledge of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3
•Prior experience in the banking industry, with understanding of the functions and operations of a large financial institution
•Experience establishing Role-Based / Attribute-Based Access Control practices within an organization
•Experience in researching, compiling, and documenting data, business processes, and workflow
•Familiarity with banking/financial industry standards and practices
•Working knowledge of development or operations framework methodologies, including Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), etc.
•Working knowledge of The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) v9 and the Zachman Framework
•Working knowledge of Navy Federal's functions, philosophy, operations and organizational objectives
