Seez is looking for a lead Data Engineer that can be the bridge between the business and the technical team and help us setup and maintain proper practices when it comes to storing and manipulating data. We would like to be more data-driven as we grow.

Candidates should have a technical background to understand software limitations and related challenges. You are also expected to understand the business needs and to communicate, organize, and plan these needs properly. We expect any candidate to gladly give and receive clear feedback for optimal end results. You will need to solve problems as you move forward, and help manage and lead the teams.

Currently we have the following live products that are continuously developed;two native mobile apps (Android and iOS) and a web application (ReactJS + NextJS) that are supported by a Python backend. We are working on implementing the Odoo ERP system into the existing ecosystem, and we have multiple upcoming projects that will run in parallel.

Seez is a young company with an untraditional work culture. With employees working together from 8 countries around the world, we aim to follow an iterative/agile development methodology. We use Slack and Zoom for most of our communication, and Jira and Confluence for project and task management. You need to be aware that the technical team and design team are working remotely from Europe and Lebanon while our business team is mostly located in the UAE.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Translate business needs into ETLs, data sources, tables structure
  • Experience in Data Warehousing
  • Assess cost of different solutions
  • Minimal supervision required;stand-alone player with proven record in building data infrastructure that aligns with business requirements
  • Experience in a technical leadership role
  • Big Data infrastructure setup (Hadoop, Clickhouse etc)
  • OLAP experience
  • Be able to build and scale a team

NICE-TO-KNOW:

  • Webscraping with Scrapy Python Framework
  • Mixpanel data manipulation and serving into different data flows
  • Tableau data sources creation and optimization
  • Experience in collaborating with Machine Learning and Data Science teams
