NCRI is currently seeking to hire a Front-End Web Developer for a 6 month contract (with possibility of extension). The position is fully remote, with flexible hours (20+ hours per week expected), and the hourly pay rate is $40 - $100 commensurate with experience.
The role will support the NCRI in an ongoing project to develop front-end tools for visualizing social media data. Candidates should be comfortable with working independently on an existing codebase, and in using project management tools to keep track of progress.

Required Skills
  -Experience in developing with HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  -Experience with a general-purpose programming language (preferably Python)
  -Experience with a modern web development framework (e.g. Django, Angular, React)
  -Experience with building data visualizations using Javascript (e.g. Highcharts, Chart.js, D3.js)
  -Experience with using REST APIs to access and manipulate data
  -Experience with using version control (git) on projects with multiple contributors
  -Experience with working from the Unix command line on remote computers (SSH, etc.)

Desired Skills
  -Experience with user interface and user experience design (UI/UX)
  -Experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL)
  -Experience with querying ElasticSearch
  -Experience in working with social media data, including visualizations and analysis
  -Familiarity with Asana or other agile project management software
