The role:
- Defining and executing the vision for how Loadsmart’s Backoffice will scale to support Finance/Accounting/Sales
- Owning the provisioning of backoffice access and roles and responsibilities within the system
- Oversee integrations between Loadsmart Backoffice and Finance systems
- Create and support custom applications used for accounting purposes.
- Provide support for Finance teams by building stable, accurate, automated solutions
- Troubleshoot accounting and finance data issues and existing applications to minimize downtime in transaction processing
- Support issue resolution for integration platforms
- Understand, communicate, address upstream and downstream impacts of technological approaches and modifications to Loadsmart backoffice
- Ensure Backoffice platforms correctly manage accounts and transactions, verify that the backoffice system can adequately handle any unusual entries that accountants need to make.
- Support integration between internal software and Netsuite Financials
- Oversee teams that provide and run reports to support and evaluate financial data
- Develop and modify reports Produce SQL query extracts that support tracking of operating metrics and KPIs
- Build, maintain and ensure quality control on data extracts that import transactions from backoffice to ERP systems
- Possess the ability to conduct research, communicate needs of end users to engineering team and translate complex accounting concepts into strategic programming objectives
- Work to achieve data parity between homegrown systems and ERP systems such as Netsuite including navigating/supporting any middleware solutions
Requirements:
- 7 or more years of experience building, testing, and maintaining software in a complex business environment
- Experience leading a team with financial systems engineering
- Experience building custom backoffice or financial or accounting systems (US Accounting regulations GAAP, SOX) , Experience integrating with an ERP system (ideally Netsuite)
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines is required
- A good understanding of databases and SQL language
- Experience with Python is a plus
- Functional experience with financial processes. Basic understanding of the system integration capabilities between Netsuite and internal and external platforms, SaaS and otherwise.
- Proven track record of delivery/integration design between systems
- Extensive knowledge of accounting and financial transactions is preferred
- Knowledge of a broad range of development languages and platforms
- Passion for software craftsmanship and product. You have well-considered opinions about how software should work, and hold yourself and your code to a high standard
- Commitment to your teammates. You enjoy working with a diverse group of people with different experiences and take pride in mentoring and learning from others
- Technical skillset combined with ability to discuss accounting impacts across various process areas
- Ability to recognize the need for software precision and avoidance of bugs that can have a serious impact on customers and financials
- Experience supporting Finance when it comes to troubleshooting systems and data issues that cause downtime, willingness to reprioritize when Finance fires emerge
- An understanding of databases and SQL that can support Finance requested data extracts, whether it's Accounting transaction processing or FP&A related needs for investors/fundraising/dashboards.
- Experience supporting/integrating SaaS billing solutions helpful
- Comfortable discussing accounting impacts across process areas, Excellent investigation, diagnostic and scoping skills
- Ability to build sound relationships and clearly communicate expectations with team members and finance stakeholders
