About the role:

Scaled is the premier recruiting partner of the most ambitious startups and we are looking for our first full-time Director of Recruiting Operations. This is a critical leadership role at a startup recruiting company with huge ambitions looking to take on industry giants.

As the Director of Recruiting Operations you will be the glue that connects our team with our product. You will make our team more productive and efficient, and you will help us scale from three recruiters today to 30 and 300 in the future. We are bringing together the best of humans with the best of technology. You’ll be the central operations powerhouse who ensures our team is leveraging the best tools, systems, and processes to maximize leverage in every part of our team’s work.

You’ll be doing all of this within the umbrella of a larger team and mission. We think the recruiting world is backwards and old school. We’re inspired to modernize recruiting for the world’s most ambitious companies. We’re world-class operators, recruiters, sourcers, and product builders ourselves. We’ve been in the operations and technology trenches for a decade+ at some of the world’s fastest growing companies. You’ll be joining a very high caliber team with an important mission.

We are looking for a remote candidate based in the United States, Canada, or the UK.

What you’ll be doing: 
  • You’ll own the candidate experience for talent that we work with. This includes determining how we schedule interviews, overseeing how we communicate to candidates (language, brand, design), and managing and improving how we present employer brand for our customers. You’ll manage our team of Recruiting Coordinators as part of this.
  • You’ll own our internal tooling. Half of our company is engineers, product managers and designers who have built a sophisticated product we use to manage customer engagements. You’ll be the chief interface between our Recruiters/Sourcers/RCs and our product team, sharing feedback regularly to improve and innovate on our product. You’ll also source and manage any off-the-shelf software we use for our internal team processes.
  • You’ll be responsible for increasing our team’s efficiency and productivity. You’ll manage the analytics built into our product on the productivity and efficiency of our Recruiters, Sourcers, and Recruiting Coordinators on the roles they’re working on. You’ll also manage the robust set of tasks we are building out in an Asana-like tool to manage and support Recruiters and Sourcers at scale.
  • You’ll manage our candidate supply work. You’ll manage our outbound sourcing team, you’ll oversee and operationalize the inbound job boards we use to find great candidates, and you’ll oversee the implementation of the internal referral product we build out for our customers.
What you’ll need:
  • We imagine you’ll need to have at least 6-7 years of professional experience with at least 2-3 of those years in recruiting generally, and ideally recruiting operations specifically.
  • You need to have deep familiarity with how high-growth startups recruit -- likely in the Silicon Valley tech startup ecosystem -- as that’s where our initial clients are.
  • Team management and leadership experience. Your team will initially be ~8 people, we expect this to grow significantly during 2022 and beyond.
  • Strong skills in cross-functional collaboration, company operations, product or project management, and team management and leadership.
  • Strong mentality and approach that prizes clear and thorough documentation, constantly identifying areas to improve and optimize, and a long-term view that sets us up for enormous scale in the future.
