We Work Remotely
Who We Are

Float is the world’s leading software for teams to plan their time. And behind it is a world-class team. From New York to the UK, Canada to South Africa—our Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams work asynchronously, helping brands such as Airbnb, Buzzfeed, and Ogilvy plan and manage their time better. Float is self-funded, profitable, and growing. If you’re a go-getter, align with our values, and are looking to join a team that’s passionate about helping others work and live more productively, we want to hear from you.

Here are a few tips from our CEO to make sure your resume stands out from the crowd.

Why We’re Hiring For This Role

Our CEO, Glenn, explains the important role you will play in leading our Product team, vision and strategy. Watch this video.
With an established product-market fit, accelerating growth and profitability, solid technical foundations, and uncapped market potential, we’re moving into an exciting phase of our scale-up journey. We’re seeking our first Director of Product hire to help navigate this journey.

The role will manage our Product department. Today, that includes a seasoned Senior Product Manager, Product Design Lead, User Experience &Data Analytics Lead.

This role has been played to date by our founder-CEO, who’s ready to hand over the reins and work closely with this person on defining the product strategy, the roadmap, and setting the team up for success.

You’ll be working asynchronously with a talented team of 35 from across the globe, with a strong focus on taking complex problems and creating solutions that are simple, intuitive and scalable for our global customer base.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As our first Director of Product, you’ll have the opportunity to shape and scale the future direction of our Product at a formative stage of scale-up.

This means you’ll be:
  • Sharpening our Product strategy, and supporting the evolution of our roadmap
  • Leading the development and measure of our north star quarterly OKRs
  • Building out our Product org, across our three key squad objectives, attracting world-class talent to raise the bar
  • Coaching and mentoring our team, while seeking self-improvement and growth in your own role
  • Defining processes, documentation and systems that enable our teams to scale while maintaining our ‘keep it simple’ values
  • Ensuring we’re executing efficiently, always shipping and learning, and ultimately delivering more value to our customers.
We’ll be continuing to evolve our core resource planning product deeply, investing in the currency of time and how planning smarter can help teams save it.

To help teams connect Float with their existing services and workflows, we’re continuing to invest and grow a family of popular Project Management and Finance integrations. We have established mobile apps for iOS and Android, and are looking to improve their unique value.

Our relatively new Time Tracking and Plus Pack add-ons help unlock scale within businesses - we feel like we’re just getting started there.
And importantly, we’re investing in what team planning looks like tomorrow, for an increasingly decentralised and remote workforce.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

We want you to love your work and believe that these skills will allow you to succeed in the role.
  • Deep satisfaction and experience in coaching and empowering other Product Managers to succeed.
  • Over four years of Product Management leadership experience, with a bias toward Product-led Growth companies, serving SMB &Mid-Market businesses.
  • Ability to identify new roles, attract top-notch talent, and scale Product teams effectively.
  • Strong async communication skills. Whether it’s written, verbal or a Loom video, you know the right medium for the message.
  • An intrinsic motivation to seek continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable in the change that comes with a fast-moving startup journey - a work history that is indicative of someone that seeks out these challenges.
Perhaps you've made your way up to a Director of Product at an established SaaS and hit a growth ceiling. If so, we’d love to chat.

As a fully remote team, we’re looking for someone comfortable with asynchronous communication as the default. We optimize our work day to enable long stretches of deep work and very few meetings.
