About the Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CTO, the DevOps Engineer collaborates with the organization as a whole to develop and automate software solutions for our day-to-day challenges. This role is responsible for automating common development tasks, monitoring and maintaining our source control process, provisioning infrastructure on our cloud services, monitoring the functioning of these systems, and automating the processes that make up the application release pipeline. The DevOps Engineer brings their operations and technical strengths along with an agile approach to our deployment pipeline, utilizing best practices to maintain a secure, future proof infrastructure and continually innovates our platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain build and deployment pipelines.
  • Plans, architects, and provisions infrastructure on both cloud and local platforms.
  • Analyzes and identifies performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement and analyze automated testing regimes.
  • Sets up and maintains systems monitoring tools and source control systems.
  • Works with the development team in automating the processes for the application release pipeline.
  • Creates supporting infrastructure for development teams and product lifecycle.
  • Responds to server incidents and diagnoses root causes.
  • Supports security and backup protocols.
  • Create and maintain documentation and training materials for these systems.
  • Participates constructively in code reviews with other developers.
  • Participates in mentorship and supports the ongoing learning and training of other team members.
  • Stays current in adopting changing technology while bolstering personal and team skill sets.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Leadership.
Qualifications:

  • Experience in containerizing applications.
  • Proficient scripting and automation skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based CI/CD deployment.
  • Experience in microservices architecture.
  • Experience in performance tuning, load balancing, CDN.
  • Experience in monitoring, altering, data migrations and backups.
  • Strong analytical skills, collaborative problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Collaborate and communicate with kindness.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
Bonus Points:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent years of professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in QA Automation.
  • Experience with the Unity game engine, and building releases for Windows and OSX platforms
Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range of $100,000-$130,000/yr USD (depending on experience)
