Job Type: Project-based, Part Time, Flexible Hours (typically 20-25 hours per week)

Remote – based anywhere within the Continental US or Canada

About the Appointment Agency

The team at the Appointment Agency has helped over 1,800 professional services firms land better clients, bigger deals, and higher fees.

Founder David Newman is a seasoned marketing and sales mentor who got tired of laying out the exact strategies, language, tools, system, and process for professional services firm owners to win more high-fee deals… and then watch some clients screw it up, procrastinate, or altogether avoid the needed prospecting and door-opening work that leads to explosive growth.

The solution?

Get out of the way and let us do it FOR you!

One early client dubbed what we do “The Magic Service” meaning it sounds almost too good to be true - yet here we are all these years later. And we’re looking for another outstanding team member to join us.

Join our team as a Conversation Agent

Leverage your sales skills and unlock your potential in a remote, part-time, project-based role, where your expertise in business development can thrive. In this position, you'll foster growth, profit, and success for our clients by securing initial meetings for them with senior executives from Fortune 500 and Inc. 5000 companies.

Responsibilities

  • Secure initial meetings with pre-selected VP-level and C-suite prospects on behalf of our clients.
  • Utilize calls, emails, and follow-up messaging to capture the attention of decision makers.
  • Initiate and maintain meaningful dialogues via phone, email, and/or LinkedIn with prospects.
  • Qualify (and disqualify) prospect interest and equip our clients with necessary background information for optimal outcomes.
  • Schedule and confirm meetings, draft bullet-style call reports, conduct bi-weekly project reviews, and provide performance tracking and reporting to clients and management.
  • Use CRM tools to record prospecting activity, appointment booking success rates, and refine targeting and messaging accordingly.
  • Participate in internal meetings via video conferencing.
  • Offer consultative prospecting advice to both clients and team members.

Required skills and experience

  • A proven track record of 10+ years in sales/business development, or in a C-level role in a midsize organization.
  • While a bachelor's degree is a must-have, an advanced degree is a bonus.
  • Proficiency in computer tools like Excel, MS-Office, Google Suite/ Apps, and CRM platforms.
  • Exceptional knack for navigating through organizational landscapes to pinpoint decision makers.
  • Strong flair for consultative selling and earning the first meeting, especially when connecting with hard-to-reach executives.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, with a talent for crafting engaging and personalized messages.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize prospect-specific research and insights to make communications more relevant and compelling.
  • Ability to grasp and convey complex information in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Stellar interpersonal skills and a knack for peer-level communication with dominant executive personalities.
  • Capacity for independent decision-making and a natural inclination towards autonomous work.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, including perfect spelling.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and highly productive in a fast-paced, client-centric environment.
  • Open to new learning, performance coaching, and direct feedback to continuously sharpen your skills and improve your results.

What you’ll be measured on

  • Complete initial on-boarding and paid training in 4 weeks or less.
  • Master and demonstrate proficiency in executing Playbooks for prospect research, messaging, outreach, and booking conversations.
  • Book 5-7 highly qualified meetings per month for each client you’re working with.
  • Track detailed daily activity via CRM for both client reporting and your own performance improvement.
  • Show an attitude of self-awareness, coachability, and commitment to client results.
  • Ability to self-correct, learn new skills, shed old habits, and not make the same mistakes more than once.

Position details
  • This position is a 1099 contractor position and you may work from anywhere during US business hours. Eastern time zone a plus.
  • Competitive compensation: generous hourly rate + bonus for every first meeting taken from appointment you have set
  • Must be available at least 20 hours/week
  • This is NOT a churn and burn “numbers game.” There may only be a couple of hundred prospects for any given client, so thoughtful research and outreach are key here.
  • We’re looking for someone to become a long-term (3+ years) team member
