We are looking for talented contract C# Web API developers to assist our team with a passion for quality to help us build the next generation of features for our members.

The way we work
The technology team is split into smaller groups of 5-6 developers plus an automation QA based around small projects. Each highly collaborative group chooses their own way of working from Kanban to GIST planning in a continually evolving process. All work items are a collaboration with our business colleagues. As part of this, we approach work with a Lean and MVP mindset often running A/B tests to validate ideas early.

What you will really be doing
All our roles include hands-on coding from back end C# and APIs to front end UI using gatsby and react.

Our office is based on in our Hedge End office (near Southampton) however we are happy for this role to be remote working in UK timezone.

Skills &Requirements
We recruit people who combine the breadth and depth of knowledge. This reflects the broad nature of the work we are required to do. 

  • C# Web API ideally in a high transaction or eCommerce system
  • Real work experience of Azure (PaaS) although we would consider AWS experience
  • Good design patterns and architectural skills
  • Good real work experience of testing ideally BDD
  • Front end experience ideally with react

What have we worked on recently

  • Expanding our Xamarin app to include the number of people in the gym, work out plans and member activity
  • Integrating a new payment gateway
  • REST API to allow 3rd party machines in our gyms to integrate into our systems
  • Member self-service features
  • Development of our Extra Product
  • Half-yearly load testing
  • CMS upgrades
  • Caching layer and large unit test refactor

Our Recruitment Process
Our interview process consists of a few stages. After the initial CV review, we arrange a 30-minute call to talk about the role and for us to learn more about your skills.

The next stage is to send you a set of scenarios and ask you to send us to create your solution to the problem. This is a chance for you to demonstrate design patterns, testing code to solve a real-world problem.

Finally, we have a longer interview via MS Teams for you to meet our developers and talk over your CV and approach to the coding test.
