What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who is able to further the growth of our community and the involvement of its members. You should have experience growing and running large tech-communities while building and managing a team that supports that goal. You’ll shape a cohesive community vision and strategy, and oversee the delivery of a wide variety of programs and initiatives to drive community activity and interest in Neo4j and graph technology across different channels and new audiences. You will be leading the thinking and shaping on how we achieve these goals, and will see through and assess the programs required to realize this.

Collaboration

Reporting to the Head of Developer Relations, you will be working closely with the rest of the globally distributed Developer Relations team in a collaborative environment. You’ll also engage with other Neo4j departments including Ecosystem, Marketing, Engineering, Product Management and Professional Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Shaping the community strategy with a long-term view, including aspects such as communications, channels, potential programs and initiatives
  • Deploying and overseeing community programs and activities, such as the growth of Neo4j community contributors and advocates, opportunities to help nurture community member professional development, etc.
  • Enable measuring the success of these programs by establishing relevant metrics for decision making and determining the impact of experiments
  • Share insights and work cross-functionally to influence product development, marketing campaigns, etc.
  • Continually thinking about how to provide more value to the community and have it provide more value to its members

The ideal candidate will:

  • Love communities and understands the value of what it means to be part of one

  • Have experience of seeing the bigger picture, long term thinking and planning for the future
  • Know that only a diverse group of people forms a great community that is inclusive and welcoming
  • Have successfully grown and run larger, engaged (tech) communities
  • Have a interest in software technologies and data
  • Understand the importance of stakeholder involvement, management and engagement
  • Be comfortable with working with metrics, baselining initiatives and measuring progress, taking a data-driven approach to problem solving
  • Have track record with planning and overseeing programs and initiatives
  • Be able to build and manage a team of engaged professionals
  • Be comfortable working remotely and collaborate across time zones and cultures
