Lead an analytics and testing functions, managing a team of analysts, to drive the evolution of a Best in Class sports company. This position is responsible for leveraging analytics to identify business growth opportunities across the experiences. This individual will lead a team to uncover opportunities and work closely with multiple business leadership and the technology organization to communicate and action analytics, as well as design and lead testing and attendant result presentation. This individual will serve as a visionary in the analytics space, identifying forward-looking insights to drive strategy.

You may work in one of the following business areas:

  • eCommerce. Ecommerce Analytics is the process of gathering and enabling all data and metrics that impact the eCommerce business and interpreting to provide insights to enable data-driven decisions across Technology roadmaps and business strategies. Ecommerce analytics explores the full customer journey across web and app, acquisition and retention drivers, transaction and purchase data, order fulfillment, technology feature development, and conversion to expose areas of opportunity and weakness in the online experience or profitability.
  • Marketing. In this marketing analytics role, the teammate will focus on the measurement of marketing to our known customers, specifically supporting our loyalty program and our targeted marketing channels, such as email and text messages. This role will partner with the marketing teams to increase customer lifetime value and deliver personalized content.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Analytics &Testing
    Lead an analytics &testing vertical, managing a team of analysts, to drive both short term and long-term business opportunities. Develop executive-facing deliverables, with succinct storylines and project plans. Work with bsuiness leaders to develop actionable insights and to translate analytics into meaningful business strategies. Test both business strategies and technology improvements to ensure positive business results. Manage an ongoing testing portfolio and prioritization for the [function] group, presenting key findings, testing summary and communication of the testing portfolio to key executives. Analyze and communicate test results cross-functionally and to leadership to guide investments decisions. Pioneer new data sets and concepts and drive the creation of common metrics with goals and benchmarks for application, further partnering with technology and reporting teams to drive data democratization and usage of metrics across the enterprise. Leverage common tools and platforms (e.g. SQL, GCP, Excel), and/or vendor platforms (Facebook, Instagram, DV360) to query, join, extract, and manipulate raw data from disparate sources to tell a comprehensive story with key insights and recommended actions. Proactively work with business and technology partners to recommend and capture new testing ideas.

    Business Stakeholder Support
    Support ad hoc requests for analytics and ad hoc reporting for executive presentation, as well questions from business leaders about methodology or how to interpret a metric or trendline. Support ad hoc analytics requests stemming from the Executive team in a timely and prioritized manner. Lead formal and informal training sessions with client groups to enable business stakeholders to answer questions via self-service tools such as Intera (internal BI tool) and PowerBI.

    Team Leadership &Development
    Manage a team of analysts, placing each teammate in the best position for them individually, and the team as a whole, to maximize value for the team and organization. Identify teammate strengths and opportunities, providing open and honest feedback on a regular basis, in order to elevate individuals. Develop and coordinate the growth of specialized skills such as analytics, testing and technological implementation to enable the team to successfully achieve goals. As needed, develop business cases to secure additional resourcing to meet capacity.

    Industry Knowledge &Benchmarking
    May serve as the primary vendor relationship manager for analytical toolsets. Benchmark DICK’S against best-in-class analytics organization to identify strengths and opportunities for DICK’S, keeping up-to-date on current trends in the industry.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Level Preferred
    • Economics, Statistics, Liberal Arts or Related Field
    • SQL, R, Python, experience with BI tools (Tableau, Qlik, PowerBI)
    • Testing and Optimization Tools
    • GCP or Azure Experience
    • 10-15 Years of Experience
    • 3-6 Years of Managerial Experienc

      Targeted Pay Range: $95,200 –$158,800. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
