Title: Senior Director, Data Analytics

Data, and how they are used, play a central role at Brightcove and are at the heart of how we make business, product, marketing, sales and operational decisions. Our centralized Data organization (Data Analytics, Data Science, and Data Engineering) is a specialized, cross-functional group that collaborates with a variety of departments to drive decisions and provide direction for future growth at Brightcove. The newly created Analytics team within Brightcove tackles challenging problems across many technical disciplines, including time series forecasting, causal inference, and optimization. In this data heavy role, we are seeking anexceptional data practitioner and hands-on Sr. Director of Analytics with a proven track record to build and lead a high-performing and growing Analytics team. In this role reporting to the SVP, Head of Data, you will be responsible for leading an organizational effort to better understand our customer needs, enhancing our product experiences, increasing our marketing and sales efforts and growth ecosystems, and growing our customer base.

Job Responsibilities

  • Hire, develop, motivate, inspire and lead a high performance, proactive team of analysts that are able to gather, analyze, synthesize and deliver data and recommendations accurately and timely
  • Act as an analytics thought partner for product, marketing, sales, customer success and other key functional teams;proactively identify and explain trends;measure impact and effectiveness of features, experiences, creative campaigns across platforms and channels;drive customer, engagement, and revenue growth
  • Develop, propose and execute on analytics initiatives and roadmaps to ensure data best practices and play a critical role in expanding the data-informed culture at all levels of the organization
  • Apply sophisticated computational, statistical, and modeling techniques in support of decision-making and drive KPI improvement;techniques include A/B and multivariate testing, predictive analysis, classification, attribution, media mix modeling, data mining, clustering and segmentation
  • Effectively distill complex results down to concise summary and present actionable insights to non-technical audiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in product, marketing, sales, engineering, operations, finance etc to define and influence data-informed business strategy and roadmaps
  • Manage development of data resources, gather requirements, organize sources, and support product and campaign launches
  • Partner with data engineering and technology teams to continuously seek innovative ways to improve the quality and accessibility of our analytical framework and data reporting infrastructure

    Qualifications/Experience

    • Minimum Bachelors degree in a quantitative field;Masters or PhD a strong plus
    • 7+ years of experience in building, managing, and leading a high-performing data analytics team
    • 12+ years of relevant working experience with increasing responsibility and strong track record of technical competencies and business strategy
    • Track record of developing and executing data roadmaps to drive decision making across product, marketing, sales and customer success organizations
    • Advanced proficiency in SQL and programming/scripting languages (e.g. Python, R)
    • Expert knowledge with business intelligence tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau)
    • Expertise with statistical analyses, application, and concepts (e.g. regressions, experiment design, classification etc.)
    • Ability to operate independently and prioritize/manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Strategically-minded yet strong detail-orientation with a penchant for data accuracy and intellectual honesty
    • Highly skilled in communicating and presenting results to executives as well as speaking deeply about data/statistics
    • Thrive on empowering team members and view the team’s success as own

      USA Brightcove Base Salary Range

      $191,200$286,800 USD
