Integrated Services (IS) will create software enabled and subscription-based always-on customer experiences within Retail and Commercial business segments of Ford Motor Company. ​Integrated Services (IS) Software or “IT”organization will focus on non-Vehicle based software solutions, business application development, marketing technology, and e-commerce solutions focused on digital services and subscriptions​. The IT organization will also focus on integrating vehicle related activation functions as necessary and developed mutually by IS Product Organization​

In this position…

Our IS team is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who embraces Lean and Agile practices to deliver innovative software products. Our Software Engineers work in small, multi-functional teams. To be successful you should have a strong background in current Java-based frameworks and both SQL and NoSQL databases. In addition, knowledge of technologies such as –Google Cloud, Containerization, and various tools for service connectivity (event-driven, REST, pub sub) will be required to contribute to this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What you’ll do…

  • In a Java environment, develop RESTful APIs
  • Utilize Google cloud related services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Storage and Firestore DB.
  • Create front-end web pages using jQuery, React, and HTML/CSS.
  • Help support usage of CI/CD pipeline e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, Tekton.
  • Architect products at the application and solution-level.
  • Translate business requirements into structured systems design using appropriate design methodologies.
  • Provide guidance and support to other developers on the team.
  • Write scripts to automate common tasks.
  • Analyze and identify areas of concern/opportunity and recommend solutions to improve both within the tech landscape as well as product·

    QUALIFICATIONS

    You’ll have…

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
    • 5 + years of professional experience developing web-based applications utilizing web technologies such as Java, Golang, Angular, jQuery, React, or similar.
    • 5 + years of Object-oriented Development experience where you applied Java Enterprise concepts with the following tools and technologies: Spring Platform (Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, Spring MVC)
    • 5 + years of experience with SQL and no-SQL databases like Firestore or MongodB, including table design, creation, and modification.
    • 5 + years of experience in Agile practices (Scrum, Kanban, Rally, JIRA etc.)

      Even better, you may have…

      • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
      • Knowledge of Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and technologies (Jenkins CI or similar).
      • Experience with microservice architecture, REST APIs, SOA, and event-driven (ex. Kafka) architecture
      • Outstanding software engineering and design knowledge;OO Design Principles
      • Knowledge of Google Cloud infrastructure offerings and how to host and maintain multi-container applications.
      • You’re always refactoring your code to be cleaner and using build tools to optimize performance.
      • Collaborative, positive demeanor, and self-motivated
      • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
      • Motivated to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects.
