VP of Engineering - remote

Truepic is searching for a quality-minded, experienced VP of Engineering to lead our growing team of developers, architects and innovators on our mission to restore trust to the internet. In this role you’ll report directly to the CEO and partner closely with our VP of Product to further establish and execute against our long term vision. We’re looking for a trusting, collaborative leader who will continuously motivate and lift up the team while ensuring operational excellence across our technology function. Core Responsibilities:

  • Join our leadership team and set strategy to achieve critical business goals
  • Collaboratively define and refine the product and technology roadmap, allowing us to scale from today’s 100+ enterprise customers to 1000+
  • Lead software architecture and technical design, translating business requirements into products that are reliable, scalable and secure
  • Establish and evolve systems and process within the engineering org and help drive a strong engineering culture
  • Continuously drive the team towards innovation and help prioritize areas of greatest impact
  • Recruit and enable a team of highly technical engineers and engineering leaders, then continue to scale that team from 15+ to 50+ along with the growth of the business
  • Develop and cultivate strong relationships across our technical functions
  • Establish budgets and set quarterly OKRs, owning outcomes in both areas
  • Contribute towards IP generation and always keep the company one step ahead
  • Contribute to emerging standards alongside other members of the C2PA
  • Operate as a thought leader, contributing to the advancement of authentic camera technology

You’ll succeed in this role if you...

  • Have 10+ years of leadership experience
  • Have led high-performing engineering orgs in lean, agile oriented SaaS startups
  • Can build, manage, scale and retain talented technical teams
  • Have a strong operational mindset and can strike the right balance between speed, quality and cost
  • Have experience scaling a startup, preferably in the series B-D growth milestones
  • Have experience building B2B SaaS products, embedded technology products, and/or native mobile SDKs
  • Have experience with photo, video, imaging, or media technologies (nice to have)
  • Have experience with security, PKI, cryptography (nice to have)
  • Have experience building and scaling machine learning algorithms (nice to have)
  • Know how to execute an ambitious vision with speed and precision
  • Have strong opinions and a toolbox of process techniques to try out
  • Understand how to build systems and processes across various stages of company growth
  • Can lead and execute effectively in hybrid-remote environments
  • Are able to roll up your sleeves and deep dive into the technology when needed
  • Are humble about your own contributions and celebrate the team’s accomplishments
  • Can earn the trust and respect of the existing team, joining as a remote executive
  • Are a lifelong learner, always aware of emerging technologies and can drive an organization to innovate
