In this role, you will seamlessly blend your in-depth use of design thinking strategies with business needs. Working alongside fellow designers, product managers, QA specialists, engineers, and clients, you'll have the opportunity to help shape our product in a rapidly growing and competitive industry. You will promote and drive the design process from start to finish, leveraging the appropriate activities and insights with the right projects to deliver engaging, accessible, and well-crafted experiences.
This role is open to candidates within Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, and Waterloo. Other locations will also be considered.
What you’ll do:
- Energize the product design team and foster collaboration across other groups and stakeholders
- Drive research initiatives to acquire deep user understanding, validate design directions, evaluate usability, and make data/insight-driven decisions
- Advocate intensely for our end-users and instinctively frame their needs and struggles in ways that help build a shared understanding across teams
- Communicate that shared understanding through fascinating narratives like customer-journeys, scenario maps, wireframes, prototypes, personas, and user stories
- Elevate and lead our design thinking practices through collaborative activities with multi-disciplinary teams
- Inspire design innovation by continuously researching and sharing design best practices on a team that values bold ideas and attention to detail
- Maintain, manage, and contribute to our design standards and resources
