Axonista is operating a fully remote team at this time, so this is a remote (working from home) position. This role is open to applicants in Ireland, Croatia, Spain, and France.

UI / UX Designer, Axonista
Axonista is looking for a UI / UX Designer who will work with our talented team to create amazing web and app experiences for our customers and their users.

Who you are
You have experience designing web and app products for at least 3 years. You're motivated by both team and personal success, you're a fast learner and passionate about technology.
You're able to work effectively as part of a fully remote team, you're generally a happy human and you enjoy collaborating with other people, helping and challenging each other to get your collective best work done. You're confident in your abilities, and able to take ownership of delivering high-quality designs.

What you’ll be doing
You will be working directly on apps for some of our key customers, where we work with them to get the most out of our product and really push the envelope to deliver the best possible user experiences. You will be joining a team of 20 engineers and designers in a company of 35. The work is interesting, fast-paced, and varied.

Axonista is renowned for delivering visually stunning applications that exceed our customers' and users' expectations, and you will be responsible for continuing this high standard. You will be working with a team that is inventing the future of interactive video storytelling.

You will be responsible for designing world class applications across web, mobile, and TV. This will include brainstorming ideas that align with our customer's KPI's and business objectives. Wire-framing and mapping complex user journeys with input from product and technical stakeholders. Presenting, discussing, and taking feedback on your design solutions with internal and external stakeholders.

Producing beautiful, high fidelity designs that are both user friendly and practical. Building realistic prototypes for user testing and concept validation, and iterating designs based on feedback from test sessions.

We create native designs for a wide range of platforms such as iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Android (mobile, tablet &TV, Roku TV and web. We expect our designers to have good organisational skills to ensuring all files are well cataloged and kept up to date.

You'll be expected to work closely with our development team to maintain a high standard of quality throughout the development phase, and address any issues that arise during development.

What you'll need
  • 3-5 years experience in a digital design role.
  • A portfolio of high fidelity designs / prototypes that demonstrate strong, cross platform UI skills and display empathy for the user.
  • Experience using Sketch (or similar) for creating high fidelity designs. Experience using Invision or Framer for creating prototypes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, and an appetite for learning. Strong opinions, weakly held.
For bonus points
  • Front-end web development skills. CSS, HTML, Javascript). Video editing / animation skills.
  • Experience with Abstract (version control design tool). Experience creating sales and marketing collateral.
  • Photo editing / Illustration skills.
