HOPE’s web developer supports HOPE International’s mission by helping to expand the size and depth of its donor base through developing and maintaining our web presence.

FULL JOB SUMMARY HOPE’s web developer plays a pivotal role in promoting our mission by developing, creating, and maintaining our web presence. As a vital member of our marketing team, you will utilize your expertise in front-end and server-side languages to create and sustain engaging digital experiences that align with HOPE’s branding, marketing strategies, fundraising goals, and organizational objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES Promote and fulfill the mission and vision of HOPE International. Champion HOPE International’s culture of P.A.S.S.I.O.N.
Full-stack development Develop and implement code to create a seamless and visually captivating user experience across our web properties. (e.g. PHP, MySQL database, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, troubleshooting, debugging)
Develop, and maintain the organization’s websites, ensuring an exceptional user experience with a focus on usability and captivating visual design.
Optimize website performance &reliability by maintaining the back-end architecture and database(s).
Customize and integrate data connections from various back-end services and databases with our front-end web platforms. (e.g. CMS add-ons/extensions/modules, APIs, donation/payment gateways, XML)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project requestors, designers, and content creators, to deliver a cohesive and impactful user experience.
In partnership with other teammates, incorporate performance analytics to ensure digital interactions are monitored.
QUALIFICATIONS Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International
Proficient knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP/MySQL, and JavaScript, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and cross-browser-compatible code.
Experience using popular CSS pre-processors (e.g., Sass, LESS) and frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap) to streamline and enhance front-end development.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git).
Experience with design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Figma).
Knowledge of modern web design standards, best practices and UI/UX design principles.
Proven experience in integrating front-end code with server-side technology, enabling seamless communication between the user interface and back-end functionality.
Knowledge of CRM integrations (e.g. Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Blackthorn).
Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and self-starting attitude when confronted with complex challenges.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Willingness to travel domestically on occasional for team gatherings.
Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, ExpressionEngine, Drupal).
Strong development and design portfolio showcasing previous projects, with provided URLs to demonstrate technical proficiency and creative skills.
Bachelor’s degree (computer science, web development or related degree preferred)
2 or more years of hands-on experience in web development or related field (candidates with greater experience may be considered towards the high end of the salary range).
