In support of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to add to our Cloud Operations department and our continuous improvement culture. As member of the Network &Firewall team you will be responsible for maintaining the networks of Plex’s private and public cloud. We are looking for an engineer that is forward thinking with the desire to leverage automation and infrastructure as code to help secure and scale our product while building resiliency and redundancy into all solutions.

This position can be located in either Auburn Hills, MI or be remotely based from a home office with some travel as necessary.

WHAT’S YOUR IMPACT?

  • Deploying public cloud (primarily Azure) networks utilizing infrastructure as code concepts.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of data center networks including hardware/software/public cloud support, training, and special projects
  • Plan, design, and implement data connectivity for local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) systems and public cloud connectivity across several remote Data Centers.
  • Assist in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans, LAN/WAN hardware/software purchases, and system installation, backup, maintenance, and problem solving
  • Assist in providing network and remote connectivity hardware/software support
  • Manage and troubleshoots highly available ISP circuits, BGP configurations, remote Data Center connectivity/WAN optimization and our customer SD WAN solution.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot systems logs and track the nature and resolution of problems
  • Monitor usage to ensure security of data and access privileges
  • Install, support, and maintain both physical and virtual network servers and appliances
  • Research and evaluate new technologies related to computer networking, automation, and public clouds
  • Plan, coordinate, and consult with vendors for hardware/software purchases, product services and support
  • Support existing firewall/security platforms to ensure stability, uptime, and security
  • Configure and troubleshoot VPNs
  • Assist in maintenance of a core monitoring solution
  • Participate in on-call rotation

IS IT IN YOU?

  • 3+ years building and maintaining networks
  • Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts and Terraform
  • Experience working with Azure DevOps or other similar code repository
  • Must be able to lift 40lbs, stand on a ladder for a long period of time, and crawl into tight spaces
  • Preferred:
    • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or related degree
    • Solutions experience preferred;Silverpeak, Azure, Terraform, PRTG, Cisco, Gigamon, Riverbed (packet capture appliances), Wireshark, Palo Alto, ServiceNow, Confluence
