The Senior Manager, Engineering - GTS provides subject matter experience, hand-on technical expertise, and strategic insight to help identify and execute on initiatives that will enable the Global Threat Services teams to continuously scale, innovate, and evolve.

This individual will manage a diverse set of engineers and will be hands on with the team and focus on identifying, prioritizing, designing, developing, and supporting initiatives that optimizes and empowers threat analysis staff, streamline operations and infrastructure, operationalizes multisource data, and will focus on ensuring operational excellence.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
· Manage the creation and maintenance of documentation and materials that support deployment, configuration, work/data flows, and use of all Global Threat Services initiatives, efforts, and deployed technologies
· Proactively perform code reviews, provide feedback, mentor on proper modes/methods, brainstorm on projects and initiatives, and leverage systems thinking and intelligence design in all engineering efforts
· Lean in and provide hands-on assistance, technical and source code validation, architectural designs, and implementation support, expertise, and guidance.
· Build, secure and design systems, services and solutions in AWS, Azure, and GCP cloud environments
· Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure, custom ETL solutions, and custom web dev tools at scale
· Lead the translation of roadmap items into requirements, prioritizing requirements and defining release content accordingly
· Promotes team collaboration and thrives in fast-paced, high functioning work atmosphere
· Set requirements for development of solutions to support, maintain and enhance operational requirements, analysis, workflow, reporting, and evolution
· Perform the duties of a manager with direct reports consistent with Cofense organizational structures and HR processes. These duties may include hiring, termination, performance reviews, mentoring, conflict resolution, team building, and seeking opportunities to offer professional development.
· Work closely with the Global Threat Services management, leads, and staff to identify areas of opportunity, requirements, value add initiatives, and to address/discuss technical issues and/or feature requests
· Work with Cofense Product teams as needed to translate roadmap items into requirements, prioritize requirements, define release content, and achieve company goals
· Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
· Cyber Security experience, especially incident response, threat management, automation
· Experience working with and designing RESTful APIs and service-based architectures
· Knowledge and experience using relational and NoSQL database systems, such as PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, etc.…
· Highly capable with rapid prototyping languages such as Python, Powershell, Ruby, Java, C#
· Knowledge of web frameworks and familiarity with TCP/IP, UDP, and HTTP protocols
· PowerShell and Python scripting SME, with focus on ETL data manipulation using REST APIs
· Ability to exercise independent judgement and creative problem-solving techniques to research, compile, and perform complex initiatives.
· Knowledge and experience with email implementations, analysis, infrastructure management, and security configurations – including ability to parse various MIME types, email content, and attachments
· Experience using and supporting DevOps Continuous Integration (CI) tools such as Jenkins, Github/Gitlab, Visual Studio
· Linux troubleshooting and management experience
· Networking knowledge and understanding of related technologies such as proxies, LDAP/Active Directory, mail Infrastructure, and other enterprise related technologies
· Security Operations Center (SOC), Network Operations Center (NOC), or similar experience is a plus
· Ability to interact with internal Leadership and staff to properly manage relationships and expectations
· Ability to interact with customers and understand their use case issues.
· Ability to manage and coordinate a team of engineers while also performing technical development
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills
· Ability to balance competing priorities and triage multiple tasks appropriately
· Ability to document and disseminate information with attention to details and audience needs
· Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Education and/or Experience:
· 5+ years of engineering experience in cyber security, cyber/threat research, or applicable fields
· Experience leading internal and external engineering teams and related solution deployment and tooling
· Experience troubleshooting solutions deployed in enterprise networks
· Professional Certification in at least one of major cloud technology providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
· Hands-on SME with designing, developing, and deploying cloud native solutions
· Bachelor’s degree or applicable experience and certifications preferred
