We’re looking for a competent, energetic software engineer to join the small and talented team at Kickserv. You’re a Rubyist with plenty of Rails chops. You have experience building, shipping, and maintaining a Rails application.
At Kickserv, you’ll focus on the main web application and its API, but you’ll also get your hands on the rest of the stack—from the brand-new React frontend to the database schema. You’ll hit the ground running and ship some code your first week.
More about you:
You thrive on a small, distributed team where everyone works independently, but everyone’s work touches everyone else’s.
You seek out feedback via code review and enjoy giving it in return. We’re all learning from and encouraging each other every day
You like to learn new skills and are not intimidated by old legacy code or a greenfield project (you’ll get plenty of opportunities to work on both).
Bonus points for any of the following:
Infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform)
React
Elixir
Payment processing

More about us
Kickserv is in the business of making service simple. We build tools for small-to-medium-sized field service businesses (think plumbers, landscapers, home repair, and cleaning). Our first application was built in the ‘90s to help our founder run his family business (we promise, we’ve overhauled it since). We are 100% remote and have team members from Bulgaria to Peru to Dallas.
Kickserv is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate by race, religion, color, country of origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
