About the Job

We are looking for a full stack software engineer to support the data integration needs of Planned Parenthood Direct, our flagship branded telehealth application, connecting people to essential health and wellness services delivered by Planned Parenthood. Our ideal candidate should be passionate about upholding high quality standards in software development, leveraging Agile Methodology with a remote team.

Must have US work authorization

Compensation

$90,000-120,000 Annually based on experience

Required Technical Qualifications

  • Strong software engineering background, including a minimum of 5 years’experience in the field of software design, application development and support
  • Strong background in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) over 2+ years
  • Expertise in working with industry specifications, preferably within Healthcare
  • Expertise in developing solutions over multiple transmission protocols such as HTTPS, SFTP, MLLP and custom APIs as well as authentication protocols
  • Expertise in working with relational databases
  • Ability to work with business resources to make recommendations and develop solutions based on industry specifications
  • Expertise in creating and modifying services and APIs using SOAP, REST, and JSON
  • Familiarity with Healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, NCPDP and others preferred
  • Focus on continuous improvement regarding system performance and compliance 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build enterprise level interfaces using existing and emerging technologies
  • Maintain expertise on industry standards as they evolve
  • Provide timely estimates, status updates and communication for assigned projects and tasks
  • Work within Change Control procedures, adhering to release management processes
  • Document processes and systems
  • Communicate specifications and other compliance requirements to technical and non-technical staff both inside and outside of Kaleido
  • Participate in design and code review sessions
  • Provide inputs/recommendations for overall system design/architecture
  • Provide technical production support and technical troubleshooting assistance to new and existing applications
  • Identify methods to measure and optimize interfaces and identify problems and improvements
  • Create and perform queries and functions for analytics and reporting
  • Create tools based to support analytics and marketing efforts
  • Create unit tests

General Qualifications

  • Effective and professional written, verbal and non-verbal communication
  • Experience working with Atlassian Collaboration tools, including but not limited to Jira, Confluence, Fisheye, Xray, Bamboo, and Crucible
  • Expertise using Git
  • Demonstrated aptitude for creativity, analytical skills and complex problem-solving
