Our team builds cross-platform desktop applications based on Electron.js and native languages such as C++, and Swift with deep system integrations, fast and reliable performance requirements.
We are looking for a JavaScript desktop software engineer who will assist us with building a cross-platform desktop application that will allow our customers to share files and collaborate in a team right from their laptop and desktop computers. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects and applications focused on Enterprise File Sharing, Sync, backup software and utilize your design skills and solid development skills experience.
This role is remote and will require working remotely with other team members.
Responsibilities:
- Writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code
- Support desktop distribution efforts such as application installers and delta-based automatic updates
- Develop, maintain and support software, including application interfaces, and new features
- Develop Node.js native C++ add-ons and cross-platform JavaScript or Typescript modules running on Windows, macOS, and GNU/Linux
- Participate in code reviews, provide feedback, and help with the advancement of tools and processes
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of software development experience with large scale projects
- Strong experience with Javascript and or typescript in NodeJS or Web
- Comfortable developing software for Windows, Linux, and macOS
- Strong knowledge of Web Technologies including HTTP protocol, XML, REST APIs
- Strong understanding of server-client architecture
- Comfortable with Git version control system
- Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize tasks while working independently or as part of the team
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with C#, Swift, Object-C and Xamarin
- Having experience and being excited about working with distributed teams
- Experience working with databases and filesystems is highly desired
- Experience developing large scale cross-platform desktop application
- Experience working on the low-level Windows, macOS, and Linux APIs
- Comfortable working with CI/CD systems, Docker, and Jenkin
