Senior Software Engineer (Front-End) - remote

Position Overview:

  • Production of major features or modules as an individual contributor, focusing on front-end web application development
  • Mentor other engineers on your team and help the team make sound technical decisions

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Product Owners to give feedback on architecture and design decisions
  • Work with Product Owners to break down new design mockups into tangible Epics, User stories and/or tasks to release new products in a timely manner
  • Implement features, unit testing, and address peer feedback through pull requests
  • Review features from peers giving feedback where necessary
  • Do maintenance on existing part of the platform via bug fixes and hotfixes
  • Identify UI security risks, performance issues, and areas where the codebase may need improvements
  • Generate technical documentation where appropriate

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science with 5 years industry experience
  • Comfortable with a fast paced startup environment
  • Proficient with git, issue tracking and related software lifecycle workflows
  • Experience in taking features from concept to production
  • Strong knowledge of vanilla Javascript and its foundational concepts
  • Mastery of building user interfaces with HTML, CSS and/or Javascript
  • Experience with React and Redux
  • Experience with Webpack (or similar, such as GulpJS, Grunt, Typescript)
  • Experience with npm/yarn package management

Bonus Points:

  • Enthusiasm in the nonprofit sector
  • Experience with AWS S3, EC2 and other AWS services
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with NodeJS
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment practices
  • Experience with TypeScript
  • Experience with front-end unit testing frameworks, such as Jest, Enzyme, Mocha, Jasmine, or similar
  • Experience with payment processing SDKs such as Spreedly, Stripe and PayPal
  • MS in Computer Science

    Annual Base Salary:

    $110,000 - $120,000
