Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer
Gorilla Logic is working with our client, who is an industry leader in providing point of sales systems to the marijuana industry, to help build their team of highly intelligent and capable engineers. We are looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer, who will work on our client’s production web application. Based in Medellin or San Jose this is a unique and highly technical role, requiring strong Ruby on Rails development experience in delivering a leading-edge platform solution. Our environment will require you to work effectively with your teammates, of course. But your real success will be measured by how well you couple critical thinking with self-motivation, enthusiasm and determination.
Technical Requirements
- Required English Level: Upper intermediate to advanced
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of development experience
- 3+ years of Ruby on Rails development experience
- Experience with Active Record
- Experience writing complex SQL
- Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Redis and Elasticsearch
- Must have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills to interact with Agile team members
Bonus Skills
- Experience converting from Data Mapper to Active Record
- Experience migrating an application from ROR 2.x to 3.x
- Experience with Elixir/Phoenix
- Experience with GraphQL
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular and Vue
