We’re Talarian, the makers of YAMM, Form Publisher and Awesome Table. We’re a small, growing, and profitable software company that is building the future of spreadsheet-driven business applications. With over 44 million downloads and team customers like Uber, Berkeley U, Epic Games and Airbnb, Talarian’s products have established themselves as market leaders. More importantly, our 4.8+ rating on Trustpilot means our customers don’t just need us, they love us.

Our company is just under 40 people, 100% remote and truly global (we have people spread out across Europe, Africa, Asia and America), all highly motivated and dedicated.

As an organization, we’re transparent and relatively flat. Important metrics and numbers are communicated to all team members. Decisions are made collaboratively, not behind closed doors. If you value being part of the discussion on how to shape the future of the product, then this is the company for you.

Our product values are: simplicity, empowerment, and getting out of the way

Why join us
As the first design hire on the recently-established marketing team, you’ll have the opportunity to truly spearhead and own the brand and creative vision for all the Talarian products as well as the general company brand. Here’s a few reasons why this role might be interesting to you:

  • We have a large user base (millions of users and tens of thousands of paying customers), established product/market fit and users who really like our products (as evidenced by our online reviews).
  • Our market is global (65% NA, 25% EMEA, 15% APAC) with users from all types of organizations (corporate, tech, events, NGO’s, schools...)
  • We are a small team, so there’s a lot of space to be creative and to build the brand. Your impact will be highly felt inside and outside the company.

The Senior Marketing Designer will report to the CMO and work closely with the Marketing, Product and Support teams.

About you
  • You’re a dedicated and creative graphic designer who is excited about creating across the many channels an in-house marketing team supports.
  • You have demonstrated ability to design high-impact landing pages with modern UI
  • You’re flexible on what you can design, but strict in your attention to detail.
  • You like the challenge of setting and maintaining a visual brand identity across mediums, and know how to emulate them while thinking critically about the audience for each product.
  • You’re comfortable receiving feedback from a marketing lead and working collaboratively with a cross-functional team.
  • You work well independently and are comfortable meeting deadlines, while ensuring clear communication along the way.
  • You’re comfortable with a very international team

Your responsibilities
  • Create brand guidelines for each product in collaboration with our product designers. A unique opportunityto build upon the strong brand of YAMM and use it to build a strong visual identity for our other products, Form Publisher and Awesome Table.
  • Be able to prepare, present and own your creative vision, strategy and brand concepts while still being open to feedback and experimentation of new ideas.

Our Culture

Output quality is king
When we do something, we do it right. We are both rigorous and creative and are here to do great work. Everybody in the company is a producer. We focus on output, not politics.

We do async and sync
Both forms of communication have their use cases. We write a lot. We do meetings when we have to, not more. We never let our calendars dictate the pace of a conversation. We love email, real-time documents and spreadsheets. We also use Figma, Trello, Jira, Zendesk and Slack.

Remote by choice
We believe that talent is present in all four corners of the globe. We document as much as possible so that colleagues across time zones are always kept in the loop. And we offer very competitive compensation, no matter where you live.

How to apply
We want to get a sense of how you write and think. To that end, please send us an email that covers at least the following:
  • Tell us why you want this job, and why you’re interested in marketing our products
  • Show and tell us about something you’ve designed that you’re proud of
  • Tell us what you’re excited about in design these days
  • If possible, include a link to something you have written online
  • Please ask any questions—about us or our products

We value great writers, so please show off those skills (stock cover letters won’t do). Your application should also include a link to a portfolio of work examples that help us understand the breadth of your design style and experience. Send your email, resume, portfolio plus any public profile or material you feel relevant to stan@talarian.io

Interview process
  • First, we’ll review your answers, portfolio and resume.
  • You’ll then have a first call with the CMO.
  • You’ll meet with 1-2 of our product designers.
  • If you make it to this stage, we’ll ask you to complete a small design project (we are mindful that creative work takes time but this is an important part of our interview process, regardless of role. Of course, you will retain the copyright to anything you design).
  • Finally, we’ll do a reference check.
